Great version of this song! It was composed by James Macpherson in 1700 before he was hung in Banff, Scotland (my hometown) - lyrics written by Burns years later. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Macpherson

That’s a nice sounding flute. Id love to know we’re to buy one.
@Wyks_Dreamz6 күн бұрын
Thats an Irish flute (keyed) they are flr sale online, at some music stores, and occasionally for sale by individuals. If you are buying an antique/previously used one from an individual you need to ask: - Does it have any cracks? - (if its keyed) Are all of the pads in working condition? - When was it last oiled? - What condition are the corks in? That way you will know what needs to be replaced. If its cracked, don't buy it unless you for sure know somone who can repair the crack. You also want to do some reasurch into the care of Irish flutes, as well as aquire some almond oil inkrder to oil the flute incase its been a while since it was last oiled before you got it! I hope that you have a Beautiful day!

What happened to the drones for musical practice and meditation?
@jonantonssontunesandtools12 күн бұрын
Yes, I've made the metronomes and drones exclusive now and they are only available on my website for you who get a subscribtion: www.tunesandtools.com/ But they are also available to buy on bandcamp: jonantonsson.bandcamp.com/ Because of this I had to remove them from youtube. However, the C-drone and 100 bpm metronomes for both jig, reel and slip jig are still available on youtube. Thank you for your understanding and hope to see you in tunes & tools website!

@@jonantonssontunesandtools - they look amazing, can you imagine of you could rent them? Its quite an investment. I know you can with Boehm silver flutes, I wonder if Irish flutes would be possible to rent...

@@jonantonssontunesandtools Thanks! It has a really nice sound. I play the silver flute and would love to have a more traditional irish flute, but I tried one once and my fingers couldn't cover all the holes. I have small hands.

What's a good tune that would go with this?
@jonantonssontunesandtools12 күн бұрын
I usually try to start the next tune with the same note as the first one starts in and preferably change key as well. Any Reel that starts on second octave D. Or actually any reel at all. Maybe something in Em afterwards to get the effect of "raising" the key from D to E. That usually has a good effect on the listener. :)
