Ich hör es immer wieder. Den Song hab ich schon immer gemocht. Coverversionen sind fast immer schlechter, als das Original. Diese wirkt in seiner Schlichtheit "ehrlicher" und gefällt mir noch viel besser, als das Original. Wirklich ein großer Wurf! Ich verstehe nicht, dass das (auch gut gefilmte) Video nicht schon zigtausend Likes hat. Hoffe, das kommt noch. Macht weiter so. Ich bin wirklich berührt.

Ich war nie ein KiKa Kind und kannte deshalb auch Dein Song nicht. Meine Cousine hatte damals eine DVD oder ähnliches, auf jeden Fall hat sie mir mal irgendwann alle Songs und Videos aus genau dieser Staffel gezeigt. Ich war damals 11 und sie 9. Das hat mich damals wirklich tief bewegt und ich erinnere mich noch an jeden Song. Gestern hatte unser gemeinsamer Onkel einen schweren Unfall, von dem noch niemand den genauen Ausgang vorhersagen kann. Und heute bin ich nach so vielen Jahren plötzlich wieder hier gelandet und bei diesem Lied. Irgendwas muss das bedeuten.

Peter Gabriel is an amazing singer and I never would dare to copy his version in any way. The only thing you can try is to give it your own little twist and that’s what we did. 😌

Actually the original song is from Stephin Merritt. Gabriels Version ist better then the original though. But although Gabriel has a unique voice and I love his version of the song his voicerange is very limited. So I am happy to hear a cover from someone with a better range. The way the song is written is perfect to interpret and reinvent it.

Er, I am a bit confused. "True Colors" was originally released by Cyndi Lauper in 1986. Phil Collins cover of the song was released in 1998.
