In 65 years, Im still not impressed with Disney characters. Love the movies, but not this silliness.

That view feels so different now that The Lego Movie stuff is now easily seen from the lift hill. Like the Masters of Flight building and Unikitty's Disco Drop.

The best meal we had was the chicken bowl. I'm sure the other protein options are good. We went with the salad base (spinach, kale, etc.) but the others sound good. The BEST thing there is the blueberry mousse dessert. It has the sweetness and texture of key lime pie or cheesecake.

Hi, the way I saw it on my video tale of it was it was a disaster waiting to happen. It was cynical opportunism and epic naivety. Yes, people are making money from adds. But there is a massive grey area between corporations and fans - if you don't think Disflix steps over that line it is more naivety going on. It was a commercial entity, charging for a service. This is disallowed from Disney. They were an LLC company. I agree, in theory, charging could raise quality, but it was legally based on a legally problematic idea across the name, branding and it being against the rules. Critics don't have it wrong.

Also You Tube scrubs that content to see if there is music or speech that matches any copyrighted content and then you don't get advertising for that video.

Evan, but the same can be said of all of the KZbin videos here that have ads on them (and most of them do). Ad-supported commercialism isn't any different than paywall-supported commercialism in that the content creators are getting paid one way or another. I would never have subscribed to Disflix. Those aren't people I follow. However, Disflix is just ONE way that people are making money off their fascination with Disney.

i'm pretty third party to this as well: i guess i have a podcast now generally themed to the whole industry, but i earn exactly no money from it and have no desire to monetize it. i have a real job. this is a hobby. i have a hard time seeing the labor involved in a periscope of any ride at disney world, but that's me. YMMV. as i've posited elsewhere: the difference between the traditional vloggers on youtube or vimeo or whatever and the use of a paywall is significant. yes, there is additional content produced by people using patreon. and many of the content producers may have continued making content for youtube or instagram which would be free. but why is the "free content" so important to note? because disney (and universal and whomever else) allows these people to produce content on the basis that they promote the theme parks and resorts to the widest audience possible. yes, these people are also promoting themselves and even sell merchandise. but ultimately, they are helping connect folks sitting at home, at work, at school, on a plane, whatever, with some sort of "disney lifestyle". and that ultimately means more people spending huge money on tickets, food, and hotel rooms. but now we get to disflix. and what disflix does is upend the model. vloggers sell primarily sell disney, then themselves. disflix primarily sells itself and then disney. all disney vloggers are attached to the parks like remoras to sharks, but disflix ups the ante by requiring money from the public first. instead of cooperational, it is parasitic. disney may tolerate cooperational relationships. they are not going to tolerate parasitic ones. this has nothing to do with guts and everything to do with not grasping their role or value and believing it is far greater than it really is. they serve as nothing more than wittier versions of travel agent cabin tour videos found throughout youtube.

No, sir. Podcasters and vloggers are upset b/c they are CHARGING their FANS for something we would always give them for free. It costs them NOTHING to make a podcast or a vlog. So why rape their fans of their money?? As a Disney Podcaster, I would NEVER charge people for what we give them. If anything, the money people are receiving comes from ADVERTISERS and SPONSORS, but NEVER the fans. It's greed at its most powerful...IF you are paying attention, the majority if the people giving the hate are other podcasters and vloggers who are disgusted by this greed. Not the fans. Keep the internet free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@AllThingsFlorida7 жыл бұрын
Jerry, I hear you -- and respect you. Ever since KZbin Red launched, many popular KZbinrs are creating pay content in ADDITION to the free content that they continue to put out. I didn't see any Disflix participant saying they would stop supporting free content, only that they would go the extra mile to generate additional premium content. In Disney terms, Extra Magic Hours. If you want the extra content -- or extra time at the park -- pay (a resort or Disflix). I get why MOST people won't pay. Just 5% of Pandora users pay for Pandora. However, it's there as a business model.
@jerryskids30237 жыл бұрын
All Things Florida While I understand your point, our group inquired about a free trial period so people could see if the content was for them..., to which they rudely said "No. We are already offering such a low price," which is interesting because every single other subscription service offers a 2 week to 1 month subscription period. I'm not saying they are obligated, but it sure seems petty and greedy to me. Doesn't matter, they just shut the site down anyway as they should have. Keep the Internet free!!

Yes, poorly run -- and executed. And a nasty Twitter comment that doomed them, too. However, the model itself will not die in more capable hands to a more forgiving future audience.
@bobjuh7 жыл бұрын
It's the plan itself that doomed them, not social media or twitter.

From their endless social media ranting and "teaser" footage, it seemed like these people had all the right resources in place. The audience has spoken, however.
