Truly during her MMC years, Darlene was a standout performer. Energetic and a mult-talent. It's sad, (for whatever the reasons) her career pretty much tanked after Disney. 🤕😞

Wish id gotten that magazine. Remember walking home from school, putting on channel 3 to watch the Mickey Mouse Club. Loved the Hardy Boys serials, Spin & Marty, Annette, The Adventures of White Shadow, all the movies they incorporated into their program & the cartoons!

I watched this episode today on the wonderful The Mickey Mouse Club Week One Walt Disney Treasures DVD set as I do every October 3 to honor the anniversary! I sure do wish that we got so many more full weeks of episodes on DVD. It’s insane that some of the major serials like Corky and White Shadow, The Hardy Boys Mystery of the Ghost Farm, Seasons Two and Three of Spin and Marty, and The Adventures of Clint and Mac didn’t get DVD releases!

Thanks so much for uploading this and some more videos! I just went on a trip to California and during it I got to watch four hour long episodes of The Mickey Mouse Club at the UCLA Library! In case you didn’t know the UCLA Film and Television Archive has almost every episode of The Mickey Mouse Club! I really hope that when the series goes in the public domain in around 30 years that someone can work with UCLA to make a nice Blu-ray set of The Mickey Mouse Club! I sadly doubt Disney themselves will release anymore unless management changes and the episodes they have there that I watched look REALLY good! I’d say about on par to how the episodes on the Walt Disney Treasures sets do!

That sounds amazing!! Looks like I have a new reason to take a trip to California at some point soon! I recall reading on the (now defunct) Originalmmc website a few years ago that UCLA’s archive had the majority of the show’s episodes available, so I love that you got a chance to watch some of the show there. In terms of Disney releasing any more of the show themselves at any point soon, I’ve definitely lost faith there, as it seems that they have little regard for their older television library these days (the original MMC hasn’t aired on television since ‘02, & there’s a whole generation who thinks that the Disney TV star to teen idol pipeline started with Britney Spears or Hilary Duff, instead of Annette Funicello). A Blu Ray or DVD set of the complete series would be amazing, even though Disney probably doesn’t think that there’s still an audience who’ll purchase it (there definitely is, even if they’re aging & dying out).

@@mickeymouseclubchannel9733 Thanks so much! It definitely was amazing! I’d very highly recommend going to UCLA and watching some of The Mickey Mouse Club episodes they have! This might surprise you but I’m one of the younger fans of The Mickey Mouse Club out there. I’m actually only 27 and became a fan when I got the Walt Disney Treasures set of the first week for Christmas 2004. In fact two of the four episodes I watched were the October 11 and 14, 1955 episodes as they contain parts Seven and Ten of the shows first serial What I Want to Be. I feel so lucky to say that I’m a friend of and have met the wonderful Keeping Walt in Disney on Instagram and here on KZbin. And he shared parts Six, Eight, and Nine of What I Want to Be back in April. I feel so thankful that thanks to him and UCLA my near 20 year dream of seeing the second half of What I Want To Be finally came true this year! I’d sadly have to agree that unfortunately the baby boomers who were kids when The Mickey Mouse Club was airing are getting up there in years as are the Mouseketeers themselves with some like Annette Funicello, Karen Pendleton, Doreen Tracy, and Cheryl Holdridge sadly no longer alive. But since I’m certain I’ll still be around when the show enters the public domain in around 2055, I’ll definitely try to champion for a complete series set and I hope that I’ll be able to find at least a few people to work with me on it. Are you aware of why current Disney has such little regard for their vintage library/why the Walt Disney Treasures came to an end? The answer is really sad, but Leonard Maltin has said why and I feel very lucky that I got to see him at his house during my trip!

they did have a few on line on streaming or facebook or something that was a new bunch of mouskateers but nothing like the origional runs when they were on tv, those kids could do many things not just one tallent, though the technique for ballet was less stringent back then though could do many talents and do them well, even the kids of the late 80's and 90's variation like justin timberlake, christine agulara, brittney spears, and that one cat that was part of the band from 98 degrees for example. they still got nothing on the first gen though, I remember seeing on vault disney, annette was moms favorite since she was italian like her family and grew up with the movies also.
