Have a blessed New Year! Greetings from New York, USA. The village measures 50" wide and 107" long. I don't have tables bec of no storage in this apartment so I build the village using the boxes that the houses come in. And i put foam boards that measure 20 x 30 to make a flat surface The challenge was having everything on one level as I also had to insert varying levels of styrofoam to accomplish this.

You are so inspiring, love your channel! Always fun to watch! ❤❤ I use cords like the one that runs down the back of a christmas tree for the lights, its an extension cord with 9 outlets and the cord is 15 feet long, i plug 5 of them into a five slot power outlet that plugs into the wall. This way i can run the 9 outlet extension cords down the floor and are able to plug in the houses down the line

Thank you Kelley! I spread a layer of onetime lightweight spackling on the stryofoam to make it smooth so that no styrofoam holes show up then I painted it, then applied water based polyurethane

Yours is officially the first video I'm viewing this year and a nice one to. I like the changes to the park and I still love the pedestrian crossings. The city hustle and bussel has come to life once more. Very nicely done! Have a very Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing

Thank you! Can't wait to see yours! The street lamps are from Hobby Lobby, they are nice and bright and will light up the entire area well. They are battery operated only and are a string of 4 posts its listed under their dollhouse items. I find that Lemax lights are a yellow glow and very dim.

@@minivillages I looked on Hobby Lobby, but they don't ship internationally. Is there a way to connect them all together, or do you have to find them all to open them individually? Your park layout is truly magical, a beautiful inspiration. Thank you

@@WinterPep each set of 4 lamp posts have a small switch box to put 2 AA batteries. I hide the battery packs behind the houses. I must of used 8 sets for the city area. In my video the making of the christmas village you can see a little bit these light sets. I was so glad I found your page last year bec I mentioned I have always adored your pinterest christmas village from 2015. Maybe ebay might have them? The Lemax are dull, dim and yellow lights, I wonder if Dept 56 makes better street lamps...

That's a lovely looking Christmas village, it must have taken ages to create. We've just finished our must smaller Christmas scene on our model railway. My grandson has filmed it for his Dylington Model Railway channel. It's even got a little bit of stop-motion animation on it, if you want a look it's called the Dylington Christmas Special. Great festive video, we're going to watch it again...cheers James 🙂👍

Yes you're right anyone can set up a village in the smallest of spaces I'm in a 600 sq foot apt in NY so i do the best I can lol.

Miniature Villages & Dioramas, It just goes to show, one doesn't have to utilize the biggest, baddest, animatronic pieces to create a village with robust charm and character. This video is a breath of fresh air and I enjoyed my visit :) I, on the other hand, went grandiose this year, building my largest village ever, The Smooching Skeleton Grand Theme Park. It's great to be able to share our creations via videos and I'm glad we have this platform to do that. I know it's well past the season, but Happy Halloween! vgv

Hi VGV, thanks for stopping by & Happy Halloween to you too. I have subscribed to your channel. You do great work! I'm on to creating my 2024 Christmas Village. I agree its wonderful to have this platform to share our creations. Its also great that we enjoy this hobby! A real labor of love. I like that the displays are unique to us and that our creativity knows no limits 😂, although a plan is helpful lol but often times I steer away from the plan as I create spontaneously within the moment as well. Keep doing what you are doing, happy creating!

Miniature Villages & Dioramas, I'm into creating villages off the cuff as well. Planning isn't huge for me. I like to collect cool pieces and then start arranging them. This is the first time I concentrated on a central theme, but I'm sure there are pieces some would question why I added them. My answer? Hi Kelley! I used dark blue cellophane wrap the one used for gift baskets, it comes on a roll bought it in Party City, when you place the wrap over a white surface the dark blue looks sky blue. 😂 First, I placed down blue lights on the styrofoam then covered it with white snow blanket to hide the wires then placed the cellophane on top.

Thank you! The green house is unbranded. I bought it in Rite Aid in 1996. I have kept it in good condition. 😊 They had these beautiful porcelain houses for only a few years back then and then never made them again.
