Wow, I was looking at one of those tables.....not anymore. Did you sell your SOTA Sapphire ?
@drprogensteinphp Жыл бұрын
Nope, I still have the Sota, along with a few other tables. Very happy with the Gold Note thus far. Typically the Giglio is sold with the God Note B 1.5 tone arm. I upgraded to the B7 arm. The damping issue with cuing has been resolved :)
@michael7164910 ай бұрын
Were you able to resolve the issue yourself or did you need to have the arm replaced? I just purchased the same table myself and am having the same problem with the 5.1

Return to Forever with Chick Corea...those guys know how to play. Yep, never seen a store with walls of records..you would think people would be reaching for records up high, and dropping them. That's a long way to the ground. Do they get alot of damaged goods?
@drprogensteinphp7 жыл бұрын
Plenty of milk crates to stand on in every aisle. I'm 6'3", so no need for a crate. My wife is 5'3" and has no problem. I've never heard of any real issue of damaged goods from dropping in my 30 years shopping at Recordland.

Thanks for the posting friendly F.Y.I The audio you hear during a KZbin video will usually be either 126 kbps AAC in an MP4 container or 155-165 kbps Opus in a WebM container, regardless of whether you're playing 360p, 1080p, or any other resolution. Changing video quality will not impact the audio stream.
@drprogensteinphp7 жыл бұрын
Of course it makes a difference. Very noticeable when I switch between 240p and 1080p. Listen to any KZbin music upload at 240, then find the same song at 720 or 1080. There's a huge difference in sound quality.

I had this album when I was a kid and, because I played hours and hours of Lego to it, it is burned into my memory. I'd love to hear the missing tracks Correspondence, Moonlit Hill, Starbrite, and Big Dream Sell. The way this album came to my family was through my sister in law. She worked as a librarian at the Riverview Mental Hospital in Coquitlam BC. They had several copies of it so they gave away their duplicates. How fitting! Thanks for uploading.

It's very interesting that you know so much about Socrates. I wish I could see more video footage during their UK tour (supporting UFO) for their last album "Plaza" in 1983. Unfortunately nothing exists. By the way, do you know Aphrodite's Child?
@drprogensteinphp7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have several Aphrodites Child albums, along with Akritas, Mad, Axis, Spinx, Apocalypsis, and a few others. Big fan of Greek music from the 70's :)

I heard some weird artifacts from the cymbals at the start of the song, once the drums kicked in. A strange smear in the stereo image only on the cymbals.
@drprogensteinphp7 жыл бұрын
I can assure you that when played through my home system this is not an issue. I used a freebee software for the rip, and employed some equalization that came with the software. In hindsight and after listening, perhaps not a such a good idea. Also, I only noticed this after the fact...I have three Canadian pressings of this LP. The one I used for this video seems to be a Columbia House Record Club pressing (see peripheral text on label). They are inferior to that of the regular/original Canadian Anthem pressing. I had no idea this was a CRC release until I watched the video closely at the start. Oops! But I'm sure the sibilance/noise you're hearing has to do with the freebee software and its equalization.

Strange Affair is the Helps 2nd album. Beware The Shadow was 3rd.
@drprogensteinphp7 жыл бұрын
Hmm...The self titled (1971), Beware The Shadow (1972), and Strange Affair (1972). That's the order of release, or at least the order Rate Your Music, and Discogs have them listed. I see Wikipedia and Progarchives have them listed in the order you say. I remember seeing these albums in the store when they were initially released, and based on that, would have to disagree with you.

Not uncommon here. Fosterchild albums are a dime a a dozen in the used record stores. Matter of fact, 'Recordland' in Calgary had their annual spring/summer "Dollar Sale" last year...over 200,000 used LP's in their warehouse (open to the public) for $1 each. It seemed like every shelf/partition I looked in had several Fosterchild LP's.

I got a copy of this disc back in 1974 when I worked at the Frankfurt audio exchange. It was called a direct disc as it was a limited edition record that had been copied with what was then called a mother stamper. The dynamics were unparalled if you had the audio system to take advantage of them. Still have this disc and another published by J.B.l. Entitled "sampler"(I think). That one has Hoyt Axton and Etta James among others.
