Best review I've seen for this vacuum. I guess you get what you pay for. I was hoping that it was so much cheaper than the cordless Dyson vacuums for fewer reasons, but apparently there a lot of reasons why it's cheaper.

I have this one, it's heavy and won't pick up pet hair.

One dislike I wish that would be reviewed is the inability of the hose to stay stretched while using the attachments. The machine will tip and you're basically constantly wrestling with the hose pulling back to the machine, or the machine pulling towards you. This is an outrageous design flaw that I can't believe made it through the design process. Thankfully enough we sold ours at a minimal loss.

Stay away, these are the worst designed vacuums on the market, as the hose does not stay stretched under suction and you must continually wrestle with it or have the entire vacuum tip smash into your back. How this made it through the design process is beyond me, and thankfully enough I sold ours ASAP.

I really dont like dysons. Ive used a couple of them. Noisy, heavy, complicated. I like my shark 😊

I wonder how long the hose will last until you have to replace it. With all that tension from moving and pulling machine along, I am sure the hose will be effected.

IF the sharks had easily replicable parts it would be win and best vacuum ever But they don't so these are Chinese trash for the most part just last a few years and you have to toss them sadly. Shark... provide replacement parts and become the leader in home Vacuums.

Very good review. I love the controls on the handle and found this vacuum when doing a search for that. I used to have a Hoover Wind-tunnel that had push-button controls on the handle but it only lasted a year and motor burned out from overheating. That is strange that it doesn't come with a dusting brush. But I have a Shark Lift-Away vacuum and wonder if it's dusting brush would fit on this one? I'm a little surprised you didn't try that two-in-one crevice/dusting tool on the end of the wand or handle but, oh well. I also love that the rotating bar with "fins" is self-cleaning. Now begins my search for the best deal on this vacuum. So far I see it on sale at Canadian Tire in Canada for $299 ($216 U.S.) regular $429 ($310 U.S.). Very good and thorough review! And that's coming from a guy who had a childhood fascination with vacuum cleaners! I used to read a kids book when I was little called The Sneaky Machine about a boy obsessed with his grandmother's vacuum. :) And I can still remember being enthralled at all the attachments and modes that my mother's Kirby vacuum could be used in.

Is it possible to swap out the all purpose roller for a replacement soft roller weith having to spend $100 for the full-size LED hard floor head?

If you didn't want the spinning brush working, you can just remove it as you would for cleaning and just not put it back in, but replace the side door.

I've ordered one of these, but I find the idea of an app for a stick vacuum ridiculous.

literally every vacuum ever made has a "compression fit system" for hose attachements. I stopped watching this review and gvae it a thumbs down after that dumb line.

Mine came with multiple plastic pieces to try and fit together. Called customer service they don’t even know how to get these contraptions together. Was retain half hour. Garbage product garbage instructions

How in the world does the hose work on this thing? Everytime I release it, the thing shuts off

I love this vacuum and they dyson discontinue the vacuum. Now I can't get the piece I need it.

I own this vac. I purchased it for two reasons: 1.) it’s lightweight which was important to me since I’m a senior citizen, and 2.) it lies down flat so I can sweep under the beds. I don’t know of any other vacs that can accommodate the 7 inch clearance under a bed. The dust bin is small so you need to empty it often. It’s not meant for heavy duty cleaning. I use it in between more thorough cleanings, and of course for under the beds.

Just bought one. Doesn't work well at all when trying to empty out cat hair. You have to get your finger inside it to scoop it out. Not great

This thing wasn't updated since release. It really needs new brushes they use in their cordless vacuums, but Dyson just wouldn't do it. Too bad that the best tech companies are the most anti-consumer.

Good evaluation but all of the test are done at a crawl speed.. At those speed, it would take my wife a week to clean the floors !. Suction capacity is very important to consider. Especially if you already have an absolute V-8. The V-8 in eco mode has a better suction capacity compared to the V-12 ! This,is the deal breaker! The only reason Dyson is slowing the speed of the V12 is to get the target one hour of operation.. And yes.. it dose, but the V8 absolute is already missing some suction capacity at the eco. I thought that V-12 would hit it out of the ball park.. ? That means it's less efficient than the previous model (V8 absolute) In my opinion.. It's not worth changing for a new less efficient model. Thanks for the evaluation It help me make my decision.

It's sad they stopped updating this bad boy. Cordless vacuum can't replace corded canister. Cordless vacuum is only good for small spaces with little dirt.

I'm wondering how well this vacuum cleans a shag rug...
