Have you run into many places that will not allow your Chow?
@ZephyrTravels8 күн бұрын
We never been turned away from a campground but I have been very careful to book campgrounds that allow Chows. We prefer to stay in public campgrounds and most of them have no restrictions on type of dogs as long as they’re not aggressive. Private campgrounds are more restrictive about what breed are allowed and we found some that do not allow Chows. I think it’s an insurance thing (at least that’s what they say on their websites). Interesting we found that many private campgrounds in California are restrictive. KOAs policy is only on aggressive dogs. Last year when Monty was attacked by a pit bull at a KOA we were staying at, the owner of the pit bull were told to remove the dog from the campground. Our Chows are may be protective of us and will bark at strangers inside our campsite, but are never aggressive. We have had Chows for over 30 years and are very careful to socialize them around people so we don’t have any problems. Great question, thanks for asking.
@tammywilliams3138 күн бұрын
@ my husband and I have a purebred chow and a chow mix. We will be doing some rving next year and found some campgrounds that state no Chows and a lot that want under 45lb dog. Our purebred Chow is not aggressive at all. He looks like Monty. Our other does not look like a chow but we had her dna tested and she is mostly chow. Thank you for responding

The Lumberton KOA was fine, but a little over priced at $65 for one night. I think what reality got me was when we called the KOA we were told that the only sites they had available were the higher price sites, but in the app their was some available at $48 per night. On the plus side, Monty and Zephyr really enjoyed the dog parks at the KOAs. Diane said the same thing about Zephyr when she watched the video 😳. Zephyr likes to sleep while we are driving and ony waking up when we stop or treats are handed out 😁.

When you are unplugging TVs, microwaves, etc. don't unplug the items that provide internet and WIFI. Most of that automation and security works on WIFI. Having the neighbor's car, trailer, etc. in your driveway makes it look like you are home. So, make sure the snow/leaves get removed from the driveway and or the grass gets mowed. We haven't had snow in NE Florida since 1989 yet we still have live oak leaves falling all winter long.

@@ZephyrTravels ....would like to see you again. We are at these.........The January, Rally is always fun with the hosts running it. Renting a golf carts adds to the adventure. Usually, some pickin' at the music park. The February rally is a partial 10amp or less boondock at an old Tobacco Farm turned into a wedding venue. We go through the week cause weekends can be otherwise busy there. Us dog people often go without power out in the pecan grove or hay field so the dogs can run a little. I drove a TBird SC like that for quite a few years. It had 180K on the clock when I sold it back around 2004. It still ran great with no smoke or weird noises. Mine was a 5 speed stick. It was white with a blue cloth interior. No sunroof. On the radio, I would check the antenna before anything else. One interesting thing about that radio -- it had AM Stereo capability. I was living in the Easton PA area when I owned the car, and we had one such AM Stereo station in town. It worked. Stereo indicator would come on, and the music was definitely in stereo. I was very happy with the car. It was very quiet and comfortable, and fast. BTW, there is a special tool to get those hard lines off from the blower, so it might be a good idea if you research that now, before you actually need it.
@ZephyrTravels25 күн бұрын
I really would have preferred a manual, but there were none available while I was looking (at least not as nice as this one). Nice to hear that your Tbird was very dependable - that one worry that I have is it having major issues and not having parts available. I did some more investigating on the radio, also thinking it may be the antenna. Unfortunately the antenna is working fine. For now I did replace it with a vintage looking new radio that has Bluetooth. Thank for the tip on the tool!

I still have temporary PA plates on the Tbird, I didn’t see the need to register it in NY until spring. Next summer I will do a video on the Mustang. I should be interesting as I owned that car since it was new. Lots of modifications done to it over the years and it earned a few trophies at Carlisle Ford events over the years.

I’ve always loved the looks of the 11th generation (2002-2005) Thunderbird convertible 2-seat coupes but I think they’re fairly rare. I wonder if the radio problem is an antenna issue? The car may have an antenna integrated into the windshield or rear window which could have cracked or separated from the lead to the radio. I enjoyed the tour!
@ZephyrTravelsАй бұрын
Thank you. We sold our 2002 Thunderbird convertible to buy our Airstream. That car was a real head turner, all black with red interior. Where ever we went everyone looked at it. I thought it was an antenna issue as well. Since filming the video, I broke down and bought an aftermarket radio (that looks vintage). The antenna works fine on the new radio, I think it’s an internal issue with the OG radio.

Excellent review Randy! We’ve used the Pro+ for a couple of years and it’s great. Zero issues! I didn’t run power to it but the battery easily lasted for over a year and is very easy to replace by removing the 4 front screws (I’ve only done it once). I never turn it off since it automatically times out and turns itself off after use. I do have to turn it back on. I can’t imagine camping without it! Funny coincidence; I just received an email today announcing a brand new Levelmate (called Max rather than Pro+) with longer battery life using 3 AAA batteries. I’m quite happy with ours and won’t upgrade, though. Our very best to Diane! Brent and Betsy
