My Salt cell rings are super tight. I can just unscrew one. Any suggestions?

try a strap wrench or filter wrench to get the other side off. and make sure you flip around to take the unions off from different directions........I was actually tightening one side until I realized I had to switch positions :)

I see in your video the plug into the salt cell is at the top , we may have ours installed wrong. Ours is coming out of the bottom and have been running it for a few days with no chlorine luck. Will this damage the cell…we will be reversing it soon

She nailed it. I needed to know what direction the cell needs to be installed. She said it doesn’t matter!

Why do some people (including my pool supply store) tell me that I have to drain the waiter down below the return? I noticed you did not.

No backwashing the filter? What about draining water below the inlet for cold weather states?

I thought you had to drop the water level below the skimmer ? Won't there be damage when the whole thing freezes?
@gregoryknight4658
@gregoryknight4658 3 жыл бұрын
The way that he's doing it, yes, definitely drop the water an inch or 2 below the skimmer. But really all you need to do is use a skimmer cover, then there's no need for a gizmo and no need to drain any water. It's actually a better idea to close your pool at the normal water level with a skimmer cover because it prevents the liner from drying out and allows for less water/ice/snow build up on top of the cover during the winter. The normal water level in your pool is actually the best defense against pool wall damage.

I remove the whole top piece from my filter and bring it indoors along with the pump. The reason is that there are rubber parts in them and from late fall to early spring these rubber pieces will freeze and thaw and will end up cracking. By the way, i live up north in Quebec, Canada

On the sand filtration system I have I only have the following settings. Filter test winterize whorlpool backwash rinse and drain. My question is what setting would I have to put my filtration system on in order to not lose any water?

Hello. I was wondering why you would have to remove the pressure gauge?
@risingsunpools
@risingsunpools 4 жыл бұрын
Boulderpits You can leave it in place but if there’s any water anywhere in the valve it could potentially freeze and crack, it ensures water drains out of any port/drain hole. also when the pressure gauges are left out int the elements they are more likely to fail over the winter. It’s more for preservation. Some people just replace them every year which is always an option :-)

Do you do this in the north, where it frezzes won’t it crack the inlet
@TheNYgolfer
@TheNYgolfer 4 жыл бұрын
Larry Fuller- Yes the skimmer plug doesn't prevent water from entering the skimmer if the cover gets loaded with snow , ice , water etc and ends up displacing the pool water which then enters the skimmer where it will freeze and crack the skimmer. Best thing to do is get a cover plate for the skimmer inlet. No water can then enter the skimmer .
@warrenranstrom4462
@warrenranstrom4462 3 жыл бұрын
The gizmo collapses so that your skimmer will not crack, that’s the whole point
@rickvaughan8993
@rickvaughan8993 2 жыл бұрын
@ theNYgolfer <You are wrong! The Gizmo does exactly as the pillow you put in the water under the cover. It absorbs the expansion of the freezing!!! So now go sit in the corner.
