Now tv commercials seem mostly to be for pharmaceuticals. The world really feels as dystopian as it is today, doesn’t it?

These are so hilarious and creepy at the same time! 😂 I was born in 1983, so this is my generation. I didn’t realize how unrealistic these were compared to real life, maybe I developed unrealistic expectations because of these. 😅

no memories of 9/11, no COVID, no war in the Ukraine, Gaza, or Sudan, no horrible, useless president who got lost trying to find his way off a stage he just climbed upon, shake hands with people who weren't there or can't formulate a coherent sentence, no Oklahoma City bombing, almost weekly mass shootings, the worst influx of illegal immigrants in American history, no L.A. Riots, no Tsunami that would kill almost half a million people. I could go on and on and on. I'm not saying nothing bad happened in the 70's and 80's, but it was a much simpler, easier time, and I understand that as time goes on, things happen and as we get older we see the world around us in a different light, but since those simpler times gone by, it just seems our world is changing, and not always for the better.

Love's BBQ Pit. in Rosemead... was my favorite restaurant to go to... and the Light Brite commercial threw me back to my kid days. Which some days I could go back and do it again knows what I know now. Love the Pepsi generation commercial ls too!

I miss this world. I was a kid in the 70s and 80s and it just seemed like everyone back then had some common sense and decency which unfortunately is not the current insanity we're experiencing.

While it's great to see some of these for the nostalgia and to recognizes how much the world has changed, the real story is how horrible advertising is as a concept and how sad it is that some people make this their life's work. Cannot fathom the desire to try to manipulate or trick people into buying your product nor being vulnerable enough or naive enough to choose a product because an ad told me to.
