Hi my name is Min . Firstly I really enjoy your videos. Secondly, this January I’m going to RMT college ( Sutherland-Chan) any advice for me.

My advice is to try to be creative in learning the terms and the muscles. Try to connect things together and read ahead and always read between the lines. Get as much feedback all the time. The more feedback the better. As a massage therapy instructor I can tell that the things you need to read and memorize is really A LOT. But, if you utilize your way of learning as you study. You will be fine. Always be empathetic always put your shoes into the clients shoes. And HAVE FUN. Hahaha 😆

Do you recommend going directly to the customer's home ? So they get the massage in their own space ?
@StephTheMassageTherapistАй бұрын
It depends on a lot of things, safety, cost and the effort and how many people are you massaging if you do mobile. It can work but not long term.

Hi Steph,I just found your channel and it’s really helpful.Im just started my home massage therapy too…100 dollars per client is it full body massage?
@StephTheMassageTherapistАй бұрын
Hi ester! It really depends on where you live, and what is your competitor pricing. But for me 100 looks like it is decent enough

Thank you for your guidence. I am considering starting a home-based business immediately after completing school. Do you recommend this approach, or would it be better to gain experience by working for someone else first? I have already set up a space at home but am unsure whether I should first work in a clinic or spa to acquire professional experience.
@StephTheMassageTherapistАй бұрын
My suggestion is to work in atleast 1 clinic or spa first and get an idea how the business side works. Because again, if you are gonna watch my other videos. It is always better to treat your home based business like a brick and mortar business because you can have a system that works for you and your clients. Having a great idea how the business works is an easy way to create your own flow of things based on that. And again, starting off right away with no clients may be harder so starting with working for a clinic or spa is an excellent option 🥹

Thank you! Hope I was able to help you! Its a POS machine that helps me receive payments via debit or credit it's called square pos machine. But the great thing is that if you sign up and have an account and you have an iphone you can receive payments there as well no need for the actual machine. You cant swipe or anythung or insert a card but the tapping option is good. Check it out.

The nice thing about massage therapy is the start up cost is affordable. You can start as little as 500$ and thats the entire thing and youll earn it back as well.

I can do this without a license? In CA
@e.thomas7307Ай бұрын
I highly recommend that you don't because if you injure a client or they injure themselves on your property you can get sued. Without a your certification from CAMTC you're personally liable and that opens you open for a lot financially. Try renting a room full time or part time. I hope it works out for you. I opened up my own practice with renting a room. Also spend the money to get a consultation with an accountant who works with licensed and certified massage therapist.

Great videos, I just passed OSCE and waiting to do MCQ myself. Im deciding whether its better to to spa or clinic, so Im wondering if you know how Spa RMTs get paid? What their split is versus clinic RMTs, and what the average tip is?
@StephTheMassageTherapist4 ай бұрын
For me, the best solution is to try things out first. Usually it depends on how much a clinic or spa would charge plus tips. Usually for clinics its 60/40 split. Spas I think so is the same but some spas offer an hourly rate as well or only when you are vacant to keep you staying. Will take a look at this as well. :)
