Has anybody ever dyno tested these cold air-intakes...?? Some videos I've seen say there's no improvement at all with these cold air intakes. Not only that, they say there's a loss of bottom end torque.
@corollachris5420
@corollachris5420 2 ай бұрын
Didn’t notice and negative effects at all. I noticed slight improvements on the bottom end. If it’s installed wrong and there’s leaks it might effect the lower end torque.

If i buy this part for my 23 corolla hatchback will it fit assuming it should. Also would this trd intake void the warranty on my car?

Nope will not void warranty if it’s properly installed, TRD is a Toyota brand and is meant for their cars

sorry dumb question but you just use the pre existing holes in the car, but have to drill that hole in the lip?

Yes, but check your measurement for the far end holes by the tires because it is different on the newer hatches if you have one.

How hard is that plastic looks cheap is it still hood up I want to get this one bay but toms body kits is like 500 bucks I rather pay 100 or 80 bucks for cheap plastics

It’s very strong for how cheap it is but it’s low so it will hit stuff in the road and also scrape on steep driveways or roads

Nice. I just bought a Corolla Hatch a month ago and was looking for some mods. It’s funny because my name is Chris and I have the same color Hatch as you. Subscribed. And I would like to hear how it sounds.

Good choice getting this car and nice man! Thanks for the sub I have been trying to get a video of this but it’s pretty hard trying to record from inside the car with the wind noise. I will try and hit a parking garage or something with it next time I can

Just installed the same lip on my ‘23 XSE hatch, had to drill a hole an inch away rather than 3/4” It’s a bit flimsy, not sure how it’ll hold up against the wind but for the looks I’d say it’s worth the $50,
@corollachris5420

It’ll hold up well I’ve had a few on my car and the only reasons they broke is because I hit stuff in the road. Drilling an inch away is good I don’t know if they might have changed the design over the years but 3/4” worked for me

I have a 2022 se manual. I bought that intake and it does make a difference over stock. I also got the aem and did not feel a difference from the trd except the noise which I didn’t like much. Lastly I got the takeda intake and got a cel because the pipe where the af sensor seats is a lot wider than stock. So I ended up using the aem pipe with the takeda filter and housing. That really hit the sweet spot. Better performance than trd but quiet as trd. I do have a tune in the car. I would stay away from oiled filters such as the trd, especially ina dusty area like az.

Toyota did a good job making this thing and for $160 I think it’s worth because it does improve acceleration, mpg, and engine noise but it’s not much when comparing to one like the 2j racing or Injen. If you have a low budget or don’t want to void warranty go TRD but if not go 2j
