Such a helpful video!! Do you have a similar video to help with what to count when starting a magic circle at the beginning? I am ALWAYS off when I try to do them.

Update…figured out my mistake 🤦🏻♀️. Now that I know what I did wrong, this is in fact, the easiest star stitch I’ve ever done. Well, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong then because I’ve followed the instructions three times and I’m just making a damn circle.

Regardless of how i do this my chain curls up back upon itself. I followed many tutorials and at no time has my chain stretched out like this. Mine keeps coming out like a spring. Been crocheting for forty years and this simple pattern has kicked my tukis. Guess i will continue my back and forth double stitch and square blanket throws...

The single crochet is naturally a tight stitch, which can cause curling-especially along the edges and bottom rows. To help relax the fabric, try adjusting your **yarn, tension, or hook size**. **Blocking** the finished piece can also work wonders to smooth things out. If you'd like more tips or want to troubleshoot this together, please join our free online community on Facebook-we’d love to help you tackle this pattern and turn it into a win: facebook.com/groups/AmericanCrochetAssociation

@AmericanCrochetAssociation Thank you.... I have a tendency to pull my yarn making tighter stitches. No clue why. I will try your suggestion. Its me I know because everyone else does it just fine. 🤭 Thank You again and I may ask for other advice... 🙏💜💙

Can this pattern be adjusted for an adult? If I know the head circumference, is there a formula to determine how many stitches to start with in the magic circle, or how many rows, etc? Thank you! I made one for my 1 month old grandson and my 3 year old grandaughter this year. My daughter loved them so much that she requested one for her and her husband. Great pattern!!!

Hi, thanks so much for creating what looks like a brilliant course for people like me who LOVE crochet and want to teach it! When I first had the idea to teach, I thought, 'sure easy; I’m an experienced crocheter...' But you’re so right, knowing and teaching are worlds apart! I’m 99% sure I’m gonna do your Crochet Instructor Training, but I have 1 question: Does the toolkit include printable stitch outlines with either photos or illustrations (e.g. insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, etc.)? I ask because I want my teaching resources to be as versatile in their accessibility as possible. I will be teaching people with a disability, primarily neurodivergent young adults (autism, ADHD, etc), and as an Autistic ADHD woman myself, I know that there are so many different ways that different people learn. Thanks :)

Thank you so much for your kind words-it means the world to know that our course resonates with experienced crocheters like you who are ready to teach! You’re absolutely right-crochet and teaching are two completely different skills, and I’m thrilled that you’re considering our Crochet Instructor Training to bridge that gap. To answer your question: Yes, the toolkit and teaching materials are intentionally versatile (text, video, chart, tips, and more) so you can easily tailor them to different learning styles. And if you need help or have questions, we're here to support you every step of the way. [email protected]

My granddaughter measures 20” at age 6. What size do I crochet?
@AmericanCrochetAssociationАй бұрын
Sizes by age can drastically differ from person to person, so size should not be determined by age alone. Here is a written version of this topic, with a cheat sheet to help: americancrochetassociation.blog/crochet-hat-size-chart/

Use stitch markers to mark the tops of your first stitch in each row / round, then use the end stitch counts in your pattern to double-check your work - that should help!

How do you substitute a light weight (4) for a blanket (6) yarn? How do I calculate how many extra stitches I need.? This is just for a Granny costume for Bluey doll. So not that important if not exact.
