There is actually the chance to pull some interesting cards out of the base 5x7 dare to tear cards. Of course, there are no guarantees as to what a person might pull from them, but the possibility is there. One of our earliest box break videos from 4-5 years ago saw us open up a box of 1997-98 Pinnacle Zenith and we pulled two of the Z-Gold cards numbered out of 100 from the oversized cards. The Z-Golds do extremely well on the secondary market. Beyond that, there is the chance to pull Z-Silvers, and other inserts which aren't as huge, but are still nice hits. There is also the chance to just get a regular sized base card in there so it is a bit of a gamble.

The 2022 hobby boxes haven't dramatically risen in price, so they can be found for a similar price as the 2024 product. I paid $165CDN (~$114USD) for this box.

The bobblehead returns as a cameo for special occasions...our Christmas episode is one of them :P

I totally agree. The cards were a good variety and they all looked super aesthetically pleasing, but as you said, the players pulled weren't the big ones from that year's SPx hunt. Nevertheless, at the price point I picked the boxes up at, it was not as disappointing as it would have been had they been at regular price.

That is a great set that is becoming increasingly tough to find. But if you find one at a great price, I totally agree, that is an excellent break with lots of cool hits that still command excellent value.

Thanks for your concern! We are still around and are still very active with our company social media pages, doing anywhere from a post to two posts per day all about goaltending history. Our goaltending museum and company itself has also grown quite a bit in the last few months, and we are currently doing some major revisions to our museum website which has meant that having the time to set up our KZbin studio area, and devoting the time to edit our videos has unfortunately slowed down as a side effect. We are planning on releasing a new break video in a couple of weeks, though, so keep an eye out for that.

I can't disagree with that. At least I like one of the two players pulled, but it was definitely not a winner. It happens with box breaks from all eras of cards. We'll definitely be opening up something different in our next episode and not circling back to this product anytime soon.

I'm not sure if I have been lucky or if the stated odds are not quite correct on the boxes themselves, but including the boxes I have opened on video (I think I opened either 2 or 3 on the channel, I can't quite remember now), as well as 2 others I have opened years and years ago, only one box did not have an Atomic Refractor in it. Of course that is just anecdotal evidence across a small sample of a handful of boxes, but that was my own experience with Bowman's Best.
