These swing characteristics are all commonly known as the "Gravity Golf" swing. I'm a gravity golfer. The heave on takeaway, vertical club, the counterfall - weight shift and pulling the hands downwards on the downswing all what we are taught in Gravity Golf. The force from the leverage which you see as he releases his club at impact is amazing. There is also no need in this golf swing to have to use too much rotation of the hips and shoulders as you explain in the video. The club face almost always comes through square on the ball which is where the consistency comes from. Great video analysis but this swing style is far far away from what people are taught in tradition golf. I'm in my 60's and my Hcp dropped from 15 to 8 in one year using the gravity golf swing. I can never go back to what I used to do.

I`m a player of golf and even when I happen to be at it for 20 years, I still had difficulty going over 90. I was not able to attain an outstanding round during the last 3-4 years right up until I finished reading these golf swing techniques , Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it). My irons are not that great. I could manage driver correctly but could simply reach a small distance..

I've been teaching golf since 1987. I also played on mini tours and have read almost every worthwhile book on the golf swing. The swing needs to be kept simple. So let's start with SIMPLE. 1. take a broom in your back yard. 2. use your golf grip 3. stand with feet at shoulder width 4. Stick the broom straight out in front of you and swing the broom ON A HORIZONTAL PLAIN AND SHIFT YOUR WEIGHT TO EACH SIDE/FOOT WHEN YOU SWING making a 90 degree shoulder turn each way. You swing to the right: your weight shifts to the right foot. You swing the broom to the left: your weight transfers to your left foot. Your head should be looking forward. This should be a relaxed motion. just do it back and forth about ten times without stopping. If you do this properly, you'll have perfect weight shift, tempo, correct hip and leg movement, and swing. If done as I instructed, IS the GOLF SWING. The only difference between a broom and club is the plain angle. The broom is horizontal and the golf club is more vertical due to your spine angle and ball. THE GOLF SWING IS THAT SIMPLE! throw away all the golf books about the swing and turn off the Golf Channel. Other advice I will give is if you want to improve your game, take lessons from a pro and practice. There's no free lunch in golf. You have to put in the hours after proper lessons. Forget buying that new Ninja Driver guaranteed to give you 25 more yards (yeah right). Your game will improve a lot more if you spend that $500 on lessons instead of that "new and improved Ninja Driver."

Do not agree, Fred's swing is undoubtedly one to copy. And it could relatively easy to do so. More, no harm nor injury to expect and fear. I would not say that regarding 'modern' swings. Thanks for the vid, great stuff 😉.

Can you explain how Matt is gripping the putter to allow the shaft to rest on the inside of his forearm. The only way I can achieve it is is place my left palm on top of the shaft?

Let’s agree to disagree. Who says you can’t have an arc with a face balanced putter anyway? Matt Kuchar can’t go straight back & through because his shaft isn’t at 90 deg and because it’s pressed into his arm he can’t manipulate the face / path (not that he would want to anyway),

You should comment on the fact on how she achieved her lag and it's the result of her incredible footwork and not concentrating on forcing the arm lag. There's a lot of misconceptions and way too much focus on how the arms should be positioned coming down when it's already naturally achieved with getting the body out of the way and the use of footwork!! Annika's a Master of her early forward footwork thrust. It seems like she already looking at the target before the beginning of her downswing with such a smooth effortless motion..

This is a form of the Vertical Swing as opposed to the high Rotational Swing that has been in vogue in the past 10 years or so. It is far more consistent and much easier on the spine. This swing is a great swing for golfers who like to gamble as it is much more consistent though it is drives the ball a little shorter. For amateurs, that is a reasonable trade off for scoring though not for bragging rights about distance. This swing will lead to a LOT of wins given that Inbee might be the best putter in the pro game - male or female. Example .. recent LPGA Major.

While I am inside my house, I read these golf swing secrets “Jοmtοzο kaha” (Google it) and after finishing it, I tried the recommended exercises on the field. I couldn`t believe what a difference it made in my swing after Three decades of golfing. Following the drills, I was able to focus more on the minor information.

Rear view illustrates right arm best and emphasis is on maintaining width and extended right elbow more than generally thought. This a fault of mine. Thank you for the good video and reminder. Bit more of a left foot spin than ever remember seeing in this great LPGA (PGA...) star.

Despite some of the similarities in their swings when looking from the caddy view, this video from a down the line view clearly demonstrates that Dufner and Hogan have polar opposite moves at the initiation of the downswing. Hogan flattens the shaft at the beginning of the downswing by his hand path moving on a more horizontal plane towards the ball, which then gives him room to rotate hard and then release the club with his body, as the shaft returns at impact to the initial shaft plane and then he can continue to turn low and left through the ball with his body. On the other hand, Dufner's initial move in the downswing is a vertical hand path which you can clearly see causes his shaft to steepen immediately. From there, he is forced to try to recover by raising his hands through impact in an effort to get the club back on plane. This causes his hands and the shaft to be significantly higher or more vertical at impact versus where he was at address which causes a more wrist related release. Jason obviously has a tremendous swing that has been proven to repeat under pressure. However, there is no disputing that the difference in the initial downswing move causes his swing to be extremely different than Hogan's. The steep initial downswing move of Dufner prevents him from having the same Hogan body release with low and steady hands through impact. Player, Trevino, Sergio and Price would be far better examples of similar Hogan moves through the ball than Dufner.

Wide back happens without deliberate wrist cock. "Inactive"hands allow for narrow downswing as hands do not cast and could hold lag.
