why the wood strapping? couldn't you just lay down foam boards, tape the seams and then install osb boards directly on top? Seems like an added step that's a lot of work that doesn't add much. I'll stand corrected if I'm mistaken.

Exactly, lay straight onto floor and layer two sheet of OSB staggered so that the seems do not lineup on top of the Durofoam. Screw and glue the two sheets of OSB together and install flooring of choice. It's called a floating floor.

That wood around the perimeter does not look treated it's directly on concrete and will rot. Either use treated wood or put a vapor barrier underneath it. smh

The glue is wasted money. Since you are fastening with screws the adhesive is not needed.

Just bought 7 sheets for a basement remodel, I removed the drywall to find out that the batt was installed directly on the concrete walls 🤦♂ batt was humid , what a shame this house is almost new. Now I bought Durofoam , to put on the concrete, then frame then put back some 2x4 batt. Now it will stop any cold draft from entering this room in the basement. I will have to do this all around my basement.

Short answer, NO. This product is combustible. A protective barrier or thermal barrier is required. Per example, brick flame spread rating is 0 , Type X ( fire resistant gypsum ) Drywall is 15 , and this product is 290. So in case of fire, this product will spread the flame pretty rapidly and the smoke developed classification is over 500, so it means it will make a lot of smoke.

probably, but I think you might want framing to do organizing cabinets and storage shelves. I'm planning on using this to insulate sound and to increase rigidity of floor where I plan on putting a large aquarium and custom cabinets on the walls. If it doesn't bother you or you don't need to break their plane (vapour barrier) I don't see why not

Very bad expérience whith This product. I bought 32* panel on 4x8x1' in order to insulate my Floor exaclty the same on this vidéo. But... Very desapointed because the two sides are get off. Never Buy again.

Hi Luke, our insulation, both filmed and not are evaluated by the local building codes to be a vapor barrier. We highly recommend reaching out to your local building inspector to make sure it will meet requirements for your area.
