Hi, i have the same engine and the machine hasn’t let me down in 12 years all of sudden when i put it to one side to clean at the bottom the oil started coming out of the air filter housing? Why do you think that is? Sorry to say i haven’t serviced it once since i got it and now after a good clean service hopefully it will fire up again! The oil was pretty thick and burning smell.. I hope its fine fingers crossed 🤞 Thank you for any advice.

Never tilt the machine with the carburator facing downwards. It will cause the engine oil to flood the air filter through the breather hose. You may also get oil through the exhaust which will cause a lot of white smoke, smell burnt and the muffler may spit oil on the deck. Only tilt the engine on its rear wheels so the handlebar goes to the ground. ALWAYS unplug the spark before tilting as the engine may start if you accidentally spin the blade. Now, you should change your air filter so your engine can breathe again + change the oil and fill to the correct level + clean off any oil on the outside of the muffler. Then your mower should be fine again.

Merci beaucoup d'avance JP

Looking forward to Part 3! New sub and interested in your restoration process. Watching you dive into this vintage machine, is giving me confidence - along with watching other YTers do similar restorations/maintenancing on other small Honda four cycle engine powered mowers. Specifically, I’m working on an older (?) PoulanPro PR55Y21RH 21” walk behind lawnmower, powered by a HONDA GVC160 engine. (HONDA FAMILY - 3HNXS.1871AK) The mower was dusty/dirty and unused for some time; it needs some good - long overdue - all around maintenance. I’m about to rebuild the carburetor - and hope it works after I re-assemble it! So I have it easy, compared to the good and hard work you’re putting in on you machine’s “resurrection”! Keep up the good work and good luck. I’ll be watching for your next video! Best wishes, Roy Lewis Buffalo, NY

Hi Roy. Thank you for your support. The GCV 160 is quite the same as the GCV 135. The part 3 is already online and you have the rebuild of the carburator ! ;) Here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2PbZXp5fbyihMU
