I just read the full original story, and I have a question for you; why do you purposefully leave out so many important details? You literally left out multiple entire paragraphs of information. The person who wrote the story put those details in for a reason, you're doing them and yourself a disservice by shortening the story to suit your liking.

I mean honestly the best way to get revenge. It is at best the most minimal leading on possible. In college I had a year long internship with a criminal court judge. I mainly assisted his research attorney and watched the court proceedings. One day, one of the case was a major drug case. It was a first offense. but he had 15KG of pure bolivian. That was hard to overlook. And he sold it to undercover cops. His attorney walked in with his assistant, who wouldn't have been out of place on a _Victoria's Secret_ runway. After looking around he approached the clerk of the court to see about bumping his case up. No dice. He didn't ask again. The judge comes in and starts from the top of the stack. The first cases are always carried over from a previous hearing. After the carryovers, he thumbs through the stack for the drug case. The attorney's assistant places an open file in front of him on the defense table. He never looked at it. The DA starts thinking he has a slam dunk. He didn't. The attorney points out three inconsistencies in the police reports, and several potential constitutional violations and challenges the motives of the primary witness (which had not been released). DA was not so sure any more. Judge calls for a meeting in chambers. As we are filing into the office, I ask him _"Eidetic memory?"_ He just smiled. At the end, he got his client probation in exchange for the name of the person he gott he load from. It was the primary witness. He coughed up all the details. Just like he was supposed to. When I was 17 I had issues with the local sheriff's office. I'm a smart ass with a lead foot, so it wasn't surprising. I was arguing my case in court and the judge told me to get an attorney. One of the attorneys waiting for his case jumped up and represented me. He represented me from 1978 unit he retired in 2016. The state bar rated him no lower than 5th in it's ranking of criminal trial attorneys. This new guy was better, and they knew each other.
