@@Jonasegway Thanks man. Maybe we could hop on a quick call? Main thing I'm trying to do is make sure I'm working with the 32 bit float correctly when it comes to adjusting the audio levels. I've got low audio in some cases, and in others I'm peaking a bit. I'm sure I'm missing something fundamental as what I understand about the 32 bit is that this problem is solved... could use a pointer in the right direction. What's the best way to get ahold of you or DM?

So at the moment.....well when I am done driving i will get back to creating a video answering your question. From what I've gotten done before I started driving again I realized that your issue with the clipping is a software fix not a hardware fix. Sure, you can place the microphone in a better area so that the software doesn't have to work as hard to process your audio and post editing but it is a software thing. I understand filmora is one of those companies that you have to pay a subscription for in order to unlock all of the features and I do not have the full version turn off the if it has this feature or not but if you click on the 32-bit audio track while having it in filmora you should see something under the audio settings that either says "Auto-volume" or "clipping manager/something along those lines". Suggestions that I have just off of the top of my head is to go into the receiver while connected to the transmitter and make sure that the game setting is adjusted according to how far you are from your audio source (the louder the audio source, the lower the gain should be set and the reverse for a low volume audio source). The second thing I suggest is to turn noise cancellation OFF if you haven't already. You want the microphone to do as little processing to your 32-bit audio as possible. It is always best to let your editing software do the processing for what you are doing. Stress test the microphone at different locations..... Try setting it up in many different distances and positions as possible. Since it is an omni-directional mic, baby turn the microphone 90 degrees away from the source so that the audio doesn't directly go into the microphone's condenser to avoid clipping. You may or may not know by 32-bit audio just gives you more range in audio you always have to be mindful of the placement of the microphone from the audio source. So you may need to focus more on microphone placement if sudden clipping is an issue. AUTO VOLUME helps bring out more volume if it's too low and less volume when it's too loud. This is an option offered in most editing programs. Just select the 32-bit file and go to the audio options of your program and select it. Aside from me working on the video, that's my "right now, right now" response to your issue.

But if I had to only pick one, I'd pick the Mic2. I love it's flexibility the most when it comes to decices it could connect to and how fast it is from the time you turn it on to recording. How do you manage the battery life 😮
@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 4 күн бұрын
You know.....it's funny you mention the battery life. The total amount of recorded time was around 1hr47mins and at the end of all of that it had 8% battery left. Always keep in mind things that use more battery. You'll go from t DJI's claimed 4hrs to 1hr45mins real quick. - image stabilization: (the higher level stabilization you use, the more battery it requires). - quick capture: (the camera is off while this is on but it isnt...that's why it turns on so fast). - wireless connection to any remotes/wireless mics: (This camera connects to your wireless mic and GPS remote so fast because it never really turns off.....it also keeps the Bluetooth on a very low power standby mode for a quick start up). If battery power is super important, turn off "Bluetooth wake up" in your settings - recording at a higher resolution: (Recording at higher resolutions requires more processing power to produce). - recording in high frame rates: high frame rates also require more processing power which will reduce battery life - display brightness: lower the brightness to help. It doesn't help a ton, but it helps - record to internal memory card: believe it or not.....recording onto an external memory card uses more battery as the camera's processorworks more trying to write your recording video as you record it through some cables and wires till it gets to your external memory card. This creates more heat which in turn on top of working harder, uses more battery.

So I usually would tell you to get the adventure combo so that you will have a total of three batteries. Those three batteries depending on how heavy your reportings are, if you are recording back to back to back in harsh conditions, you should be able to get about 5 hours out of the three batteries and that's worst case scenario. You will probably get more like 7 hours in total. If you feel like you need more than that, I would invest in a 10,000 mAh power bank and that will keep you going if you are going off the grid when it comes to being around power sources to charge your stuff

@@hopper333 you ain't have the option to adjust audio gain unless you have an external microphone plugged into the camera or unless you are running one of DJI's wireless microphones to your camera. And the Amazon basics microphone has been discontinued a very very long time ago. A great option would be the comica VM-10PRO. This is a bigger microphone then the Amazon basics however it can connect directly to the USB-c port of your action 4 and allow you to adjust the gain (when plugged in via usb-c) on the microphone itself and in the menu system of the action 4. Orrrr..... You could just buy a single DJI mic mini transmitter $59usd and have high quality wireless audio Or.... The DJI Mic 2's single transmitter for $100usd. Both sounds great out of the box and serves as mini controllers for the action 4 in a sense where you could start/stop recording with a short press of the 'link' button on either transmitter when connected to your Action 4.

Like people will ride their motorcycle with this camera mounted on the rear of the bike and people would always think someone was holding this camera when all along it was on a selfie stick lol. Car racing videos.......people would have this camera mounted to a suction cup system on their back windows and people would comment " how can a drone keep up with a car so well" lol. The X3 started that whole vibe. So I decided to make a short video using it. It's always been a good camera and no one was asking for a newer version of this camera when they ended up releasing the X4. Which is once again a 'better' version of the X3.

@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 20 күн бұрын
Great question. I will film a video today with the action 4 and action 5. In 4k so you could pixel watch for the differences. Assuming the bitrate is set to HIGH with both cameras... The video quality of the action 5 in low light IN MY OPINION is a little bit better than the action 4. The action 4 in my opinion still has very good low light performance if you record in d-log flat profile which takes away all the colors but in my opinion what is more important being able to see what is being recorded at night or the color quality while recording at night? During daytime recording, I somewhat agree with the action for being slightly better than the action 5 but it is probably because the action 4 still has a higher bit rate than the action 5 when you crank up the settings. I remember seeing while dealing with these cameras the bitrate maxing out on the action 4 around 130 or 140 where it was around 100 with the action 5 Pro. The action 5 Pro uses AI technology to improve the image so if the AI chip doesn't get it precisely right you may see a little bit of cloudiness in the video. I don't talk about these things because I feel like your content will not allow people to see stuff like that if it makes sense. The very first 15secods of this video was recorded with my Samsung z fold5 which looks pretty good in my opinion. We use action cameras because they can do a similar job but with a whole lot more ruggedness to them and they don't take up all of the space on your phone. And of course obviously better stabilization than your cell phone. Think about this, I never used two microphones at the same time. That is obviously because my use case never required me to. It is nice to have it but for me I've never needed it. If you are the type of filmmaker who like to have a partner with you all the time and you want them mic'd up then obviously the action 5 is probably going to be the camera you want to buy instead. But if you are a solo artist and you are trying to do this on a budget, I would just tell you to get the action 4. However, you can still get the action for if you think that it is better for you and it is cheaper and simply buy the mic mini microphone kit with the two microphones and just plug the receiver into the action 4 and still have dual microphones 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@Jonasegway thats so helpful thank you so much, I'm more concerned with the low light because thats the part where my iPhone 12 Pro Max fails, it can't see in the dark even with external lenses, but I've seen the Dji do crazy things even better than ace pro, but you recommend d-log and just grade it later? and I agree its better to have something rather than total darkness interesting I wonder why Dji rushed to get the action 5 for the holidays it feels like its half baked, oh yeah I know about the ai not getting this right I like using generative fill in the photoshop ai and when it hits it hits but mostly it flops hard hahah you have very valid points I'm never using 2 mic's unless I am filming with someone else and I have to be intentional when I do that... 1 is more than enough so the action 4 would suffice, interesting.. true the mic mini and just plug it in and I have 2 mics you're a genius, and its cheaper because obviously if the budget allowed theres no reason to just go to the best the mic 2 and the action 5 whats your opinion on the Dji osmo pocket 3 u like that camera or you like the rugged ness? also I found an Osmo Pocket 2 for $200 bucks Canadian with the creator mic included but people I talked to said im going backwards hahah get with the times, I think I'd be happy with the action 4 and a mic mini, I'm gonna rewatch your video again to decide if I need the kit or if I need white or black, I haven't really been aware of the differences yet because I was just gonna get a singular Dji mic 2 to bluetooth connect to the action 4
@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 20 күн бұрын
@LouisLuzuka I love your talking points as well. It gave me an idea for another video. I am charging both the action 4 and 5 to make sure both are starting this test with equally full batteriess. Two mics at the same time is good but again you have to be intentional. Certain motogloggers for example with a riding partner might benefit more from being able to use two microphones with one camera but then again like I told you you could just buy the dual mic combo of the mic mini and get the same thing while still using the action 4. The action 5 has a more comprehensive menu system with a lot more options. I feel like the action 4 is simpler but it works very well. When it comes to the pocket 3, I thought about that camera long and hard and then I thought about how I use my actual cameras and it did not fill the void which is why I did not get it. If I had a lot more views in general and made money off of this channel I would buy the pocket 3 just to do a lot of experimental videos with it to show people other ways that you can use it then the obvious. The pocket 3 for me is like a portable Sony zv1 in my opinion and I only use my zv1 when I am at home. I actually never use it out and about which is when I mostly use my cameras in general. If you do not care about the ruggedness and water resistance and you are going to just be a vlogger the pocket 3 would benefit you best. If the weather where you live is usually sort of aggressive when it comes to rain and moisture then I wouldn't even bother with the pocket 3. The decisions are tough I know. I like that you are taking your time with your decision because it's easy to jump the gun. In the grand scheme of things all of these cameras would do just fine. They all have very good quality, they have good practicality "especially DJI cameras" and all of these cameras will allow you to connect some sort of external accessory that could benefit any scenario you want to use these cameras in.

Something that DJI did with releasing the action 5 Pro as early as they did I think was a good job. Why? Because it allows them to refine the product through the use of the consumer. This creates an illusion that DJI is very good at updating their equipment, and listening to their consumer. The camera itself was fitted with hardware that allows them to do these things so it makes them look good in many ways just make sure that the release product is decent enough to keep the people interested. And I think they've nailed it from that perspective. If they release a perfect product from the beginning, it would take them longer to release an update which would leave people thinking they forgot them. I bet there are future updates planned by DJI to make this camera do things they know the camera could handle.

@@Jonasegway very valid points, you're right I'd much prefer smaller refinements rather than waiting how many years for the Osmo Pocket 3 and I was fine with the pocket 1 before it died. at least the market keeps moving. you're absolutely right, better to get it in our hands, test and refined and its like gaming too, they release patches years later almost 2 years later when the game wasn't playable but now its perfect. I guess that means we have to trust that they'll figure it out. thanks for that perspective shift

It may not sound as good as the Mic mini but it still sounds decent. You get two mics and a receiver. Battery life for each piece is around 5-5½hrs 11grams ea. (which really doesn't matter when the mic mini pieces are all 10grams. Those differences are miniscule. The mic mini (in order to use the mic mini with your S24 and still have at least about the same audio quality as the A30, you'll need to get the DJI 1RX/1TX kit) will run you $89. Obviously the mic mini has different sound tuning then the A30 which most would say is "better" but.thr A30 still sounds good. DJI's Mimo app also further improves the audio of the mic mini's setup AAAAND can update the mic mini whenever DJI needs to do updates via Mimo app. The Ulanzi A30 is going off straight hardware but they also have great customer service if you have any issues. So..... If you are on a budget.. A30. If $89USD is no big deal, DJI mic mini. If you want slightly higher quality audio, DJI mic mini is your guy.

That part. Shits waay too expensive. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a hotel room unless I was rich and I really wanted to splurge. I'd rather get a cheaper room and spend the rest doing activities in the area

@ I’m just a student so I don’t get to test out all these things and then I find you also aren’t afraid to use lower budget items like ulanzi most people just take Dji sponsors and insta 360, but genuinely you’re the best, for the honesty and the love and the fact you buy your own stuff one day I’ll upgrade my phone 🥰🫶🏼 all the best ! I have the iPhone se2020 and I still enjoy life 🙏

How to turn it off when not in use? The green light stays lit
@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 24 күн бұрын
@@dropout1243 you must put it back in the case in order to turn it off. otherwise. I believe it has a 15min timer on both mics and receiver of inactivity before they turn off automatically
