Great fishing! And lovely action on that rod. Try 3:2 ratio on the pellets preparing at home. So add 300g of pellets, to 200ml water, in a bag. Let them sit, and mix up every 15 mins or so until the water is fully absorbed. Perfect every time.

Nice fishing sesh gotta tell you about the craziest mackarel fishing expirience i ever had i went fishing around midnight and only took a bit of bread squid and sea snails as bait i thought that nothing crazy chould happen so i only took my smalest rod and went to around 20-30 meter deep water in a tight but long cove threw some bread and waited for about 10 min and the i saw probably 100 to 200 bluefins start to circle me and my miniature solo fishing boat i at least tried throwing out a few but they whouldnt bite and the line whould probably just brake but the luckuest thing that happend that day is that i didnt take a speargun is a bigger rod cuz if my confidente a** tried to catch them and those suckers got caught i whould end up somewhere on the antlantic😂

drag far to slack
@fishandchill.2 ай бұрын
Had it tighter in the beginning but kept losing fish and breaking the hook length. Managed to land all 4 carp in the end by leaving it more slack, worked fine 🤷♂
@fishandchill.2 ай бұрын
But I agree, I usually would put more pressure on the fish but it didn't feel right on that day for some reason, not sure if its the rod being to soft or the reel dodgy. I ordered myself a rod and reel specifically for carp feeder fishing which should do a better job hopefully. I have had this rod and reel for a while and mainly used it for bream fishing. Hopefully it will go better next time 🙏

How important is it to have loose drag for fighting these carp? Is it because your line is not strong?
@fishandchill.2 ай бұрын
I was using 8lb mainline and 7lb hook link material and a charging carp can break that even single digit carp. Its also to prevent hook pulls or their mouths being ripped open (which is unlikely with these small hooks but can happen) You let them power out by the time to net, because they have sudden and very powerful charges which can easily result in hook pulls or break offs if drag is not lose enough. I still need to improve my carp feeder fishing myself (as seen in the video) but its all about practise. I have talked to a few people and they suggested using 10lb mainline and 8-9lb hook link material just to have a bit more play and able to keep them away from snags
