@scalehistoryslc8197 сағат бұрын
@@larrysmith703 yes! It is a one man operation and I think he is focusing on the KNIL at the moment. The rubicon USA link I have in the description has plenty of Dutch options in stock!

I love metal miniatures but the heads are often... off. But I usually clip off the heads and replace them with plastic if possible

Metal minis are the best.
@iangabor682213 сағат бұрын
I like how crisp the detail is on metal models, it can really make them pop on the table when paired with a good paint job. A note on the heads, the KNIL is the first range where the sculptor started using 3d printed bits, like helmets, to get better details on the miniatures so the heads may have been sculpted to fit pre-made parts instead of hand sculpting the helmet which would explain a difference in head size.
@FlintStone-c3s16 сағат бұрын
I think 3D resin prints for molds could make make it easier to get into metal. 3D printed Thermocast cast resin has been used for Zinc molds. The hardest part I have found is making uniforms in Blender, that takes practice. Mind you I do everything on a Raspberry Pi5. New IR lasers can cut/etch Brass, Steel Shim. Small scale makers are getting well served by latest tech and cheap Chinese vacuum/spin casting machines.

Never thought to use Italian bodies but it’s a really good fit. I used the Japanese bodies for my nationalists and the smaller frame does make it difficult to mix and match. Great video, thanks dude.

2:50 isn’t that “mess kit” the gas mask container? I think the German mess kit was that squared off part at the top of the canteen.
@svensvensson2724Ай бұрын
That is the gasmask cannister. The square bit at the top of the canteen is a cup. The mess kit is a square metal container with lid, usually painted green. Potatos go in the kit, then you eat out of the lid.

I'd love to see someone do Tito's National Liberation Army. Of course, it'll very on unit and time and place in the war. But a mix of British uniforms, German or Italian weapons and limited kit, and a titokva would make for a neat figure.

I've been working on a Nationalist Chinese army!! The Chinese is probably one of the most interesting armies to build and paint, since they used equipment from just about every other major nation, allowing you to have a mixed army of interesting units. Rather than the usual tidal wave of browns and greens. I highly recommend anyone to check out some possibilities with the Chinese... its worth it.

@jonathanbirkeland1085Ай бұрын
Canadians will probably just use the British and Commonwealth rules found in the main 3rd edition rulebook for a while. I’d recommend using the “Vengeance” rule to show the Canadians tenacity especially when fighting the hated SS.
