"- There are many different meanings for the same words invented by people. The Creator speaks patiently and lovingly with each other incorruptible, beautiful deeds. The sunrise of the sun and the reflection of the moon, the fog is soft and dewdrop, with a ray playing, the heavenly blue has absorbed. There are many clear examples in the universe. Look around. They touch you and everyone." Anastasia "Ringing Cedars of Russia"

I'm a lifelong Christian and I know that Jesus is known by many other names. At midlife I've been researching and incorporating my pagan roots. 3rd generation Irish American and 1st generation swedish American. I love my heritage. I walk with the Lord and I practice magic. I love having the best of everything and I feel sorry for people who have to be dogmatic either way. Happy Yule and merry Christmas all!!!

Beautiful song but it has so much Christian undertones I do t see how every one keeps claiming this to be a pagen song
@KaterinaElHaj Жыл бұрын
I think it is the other way round. Christianity has Pagan undertones. lol It tells the story of Yule from well before when Christians claimed this time of year. Christ could not have been born in december according to astronomical calculations. Early christians chose it because it was already a time of celebrations for other traditions and they wanted some of the vibe. I am glad you like it. In the UK, this tune is greensleeves. They do not use it as the carol written in the early 1900s- What child is this- as they do in the USA. Merry Yule.

This tune is Greensleeves, written with words by Henri the 8th. It was turned into a xmas carol in the states in the early 1900s and I 'reclaimed' it writing the pagan words, yes. Happy Yule.

Metaphorically it is also SON as the Goddess births the new God [new year in nature] each Yule and He dies at Samhain. In this way, the SUN is the SON of our Lady. lol Blessed be.

This is specifically Wiccan rather than pagan, and unfortunately doesn't fit the many pagan cultures and people that saw the sun as female
@KaterinaElHaj3 жыл бұрын
I wrote the lyric for my children and I to sing around our yule fire. I am a celtic witch not a wiccan and for our practice the sun is our Lord- representing the masculine aspects of the world. Others from the traditions you mention are free to write their own lyric if this does not suit them. If you do not like it please feel free not to play it. May you walk in the light of our Lady and speak with the wisdom of our Lord.
@dahliawolf53153 жыл бұрын
@@KaterinaElHaj meant no disrespect - it's a nice song. It's just a trend i noticed - Wicca is big on the Sun Lord and Moon Lady thing which had big influence on the general pagan community and made that the standard way to view things, not really leaving room for anything else. (I actually worship several Celtic sun goddesses such as Ainé, Grianne, Sulis etc.)
@KaterinaElHaj3 жыл бұрын
@@dahliawolf5315 I chose celtic witchcraft because it is eclectic. It allows the freedom to create ones own dialogue with the divine however one perceives it. I became a witch 40 years ago. I am in my 60s. So yes there have been many changes since I started. Some good. Some bad. The Gods are constructs. Metaphors to describe the universe. Early science. There is however masculine and feminine in nature and that is why there is a lord and a lady. Not sun and moon. Male and female. I do not see the moon as our lady. The moon is PART of our lady along with other female aspects of nature. The lady births the lord at yule and the lord grows through the year to his death at samhain in parallel with the seasons of nature [if you live in northern england lol ] That is the tradition behind my lyric which was devised sitting outside at our yule fire in the wind and weather.

@@ankebacker0543 It came upon a midnight clear That glorious song of old When faithful kneeling on the Earth Invoked his radiant gold. Peace n the Earth. Goodwill to men. They opened their hearts to sing The world in solemn stillness lay To greet their blessed king. Oh ye beneath life's crushing load Whose forms are bending low Who toil along the climbing way With painful steps and slow. Look now for glad and golden hours Take heart, our Lord has come. Just rest beside the Yuletide fire And greet the morning sun. When our good Lord returns to Earth To send the dark away. The whole world sending back his love Upon this Solstice day. For lo, the days are hastening on. By Wise ones seen of old. When with the ever circling years Shall come the time foretold When our good Lord returns once more to Earth To send the dark away. The whole world echoing back his love Upon this Solstice day.
