Do you have any recommendations for cheaper but good quality stainless quick connect sets from AMAZON or anywhere else? Mckillans looks good but $70 is a lot.

I'll start by saying I'm not a detailing pro. I bought the Ryobi from HD about 4 months ago for detailing my personal car, using a 25 feet flex hose with it and a McKillan's foam cannon. The first four times, I had one issue for a minute or so where the machine would run but not create any pressure. Just yesterday, it would run continuously without creating any pressure at all. Not sure if this what you refer to as 'surging', but more like 'stalling'. Now considering an Active 2.0. Since I'm not a pro, the cons you mention wouldn't really apply to me. I've seen it for $350 on Amazon, and $270 on Ali Express. But I doubt I'll be buying an more Ryobi products in the future. Thankfully, I'm not out a lot of money.

Wow! That's crazy how ineffective those filters were. I was going to use those as I also saw them at WalMart and thought, "Hmm....these might be at least better than nothing on my water hose". But I am glad you did this testing to discover it's probably a waste of money to get those in-line water filters. At least for detailing purposes when you want as low as possible in the parts per million.

Turtle Wax really upped their game over the past few years. I love their Hybrid Solutions Graphene Paste Wax. One of the glossiest waxes I have ever used in my 45+ years of detailing automobiles of all types and sizes. It's a little oily, but very easy to use. I applied it with my PXE-80 mini polisher with a 3" pad and it worked perfectly to lay down a thin layer of the wax onto the panels. The 3" pad fits perfectly into the can also so it made it easy to load up the pad with the wax. It has a pleasant smell too. I applied the wax to the entire vehicle before wiping it off with a thick, plush microfiber cloth and it was slightly grabby on the wipe off but still very easy. Once I went back over the vehicle with a dry plush microfiber, it buffed out to a beautiful candy apple gloss type of finish. I wonder if I would have used the Graphene to the Max wax first, then put the paste on over it, it would have even looked glossier. I like the Hybrid Solutions Pro Line of products and especially the Graphene Paste wax. It's one of my favorite waxes of all time. It's that good. Turtle Wax hit a home run with that product.

One of the very best deals on the market currently for spray and rinse waxes is Superior Products Formula 4 Spray Wax. It's only $23.99 a GALLON which is WAY WAY cheaper than any other brand of spray and rinse type of sealant on the market in 2024. You can also use it by spraying it directly on your panel with a spray bottle as a drying aide that works well also. Formula 4 Spray Wax is one of those "hidden gems" in touchless sealants. Hell, the small bottle of Snake Oil from Wash Chems is $70! which is absolutely nuts. Again, Formula 4 Spray Wax from Superior Products is $24 A GALLON!!!!! It can be diluted many ways and you can easily vary the dilution depending on how you personally want to use the product. Try it out for yourself. Wash Chems is a pretty good touchless wash product, which I use first, then top it with Superior Products Formula 4 Spray Wax. The best way to apply it is via a pump up pressure sprayer either diluted or even undiluted for even more protection, all over the vehicle like you are spraying a pre-soak on a rinseless wash. Again, you can easily control the dilution or way you want to use it adding more to the mix or whatever. It can also be applied via a foam cannon diluted in a mixed up solution, or using the Griot's BOSS foam cannon with the metering tips directly hooked up to a bottle using it straight from the bottle The product was originally designed for coin operated car wash operations, however, over the years, some detailers discovered this product and adapted it for their detailing business as a cost effective sealant option for those people who just want a maintenance wash. It's so reasonably priced, you could even give it to customers who pay for a maintenance wash as a "bonus" for free to add value to your business and get referrals from loyal customers. At $24 a gallon, it's a very minimal cost to incorporate into a business or a great value for those who detail their vehicles at home. I'm sure there are many others out there, but the Superior Products Formula 4 Spray Wax is probably the best "value" based spray and rinse sealant out there. It also may not be the longest lasting "touchless" or "spray and rinse" product on the market, but with such a high value, you can use it one a week or every other week to keep topping up the sealant. Chem-X has a good system, but their products are WAY too high priced to use them for everyday detailing on automobiles. It might be great for big rigs, but too cost prohibitive for home use unless you are wealthy and can put down that kind of money every time you buy the gallon sized products which is like $150 plus another $70 for the Snake Oil which is over $200 just to wash vehicles. NOPE! Even the Griot's Foaming Poly Gloss is way more expensive than the Superior Products Formula 4 Spray Wax gallon. Foaming Poly Gloss works pretty good, but you need to use it out of the sun, and I always have to wipe the vehicle down with a microfiber towel after using Poly Gloss just to ensure a streak free glossy finish. It's similar to a spray and rinse product, but you have to wait 10 minutes before rinsing which you see the Poly Gloss forming into lines on the paint and then running down the paint towards the ground as the foam dissipates. Once you start seeing the product start to gather into noticeable lines on the paint and running downwards, then you know it's time to rinse it off. Another really unique touchless wash product on the market today is from P&S called "CRYSTAL WASH". It a decontamination wash you spray onto your paint and allow to fully crystalize before rinsing clean carrying away road film and contaminants, making your clay mitt decontamination easier as the Crystal Wash breaks all the road gunk off of your paint and even starts to tackle iron deposits and other types of contamination on your vehicle paint. It's a unique product unlike any I have ever seen. I'm not sure what technology Crystal Wash uses, but it is very effective so that may be another touchless wash you want to give a shot. You might like that one and it's not too bad on the price at only $22.50 PER GALLON! Crystal Wash is a fantastic "pre-wash" product and it is a "must have" for decontamination washes in my personal opinion. I incorporate it into my routine wash along with other products such as Wash Chems Pro-100 first, then Crystal Wash after that to tackle contaminants that the Wash Chems Pro-100 may not have gotten in the touchless first stage. Crystal Wash is one of the most unique products I have seen for decon/touchless washing. Again, you'd have to experiment with it yourself to see how you would incorporate into your own wash routine. It's a very good product for $24 A GALLON!

I've been wanting to try this product for a while now. Thanks for your honest review. I thought this was more of a sheeting type product, which is why I haven't tried it yet because I prefer strong beading products over sheeting products, but apparently I was wrong since you have pretty good beading right after application and the rinse. I had no idea that Mirror Finish had their own version of a touchless sealant. I am going to have to try that one too along with Snake Oil. Chem-X has some of the best labeling in the industry along with the bright colors they use which really draws the eye onto the product with that bright lime "slime" green color. Even Stars & Stripes draws your eye to them with their distinctive red and blue colors. Chem-X is one of the leaders in touchless washing and cater mainly to the big rig industry where using an effective touchless wash system is a lot more important due to the size of the vehicles. Chem-X has nailed it with their low, then high PH touchless washes, and also with their Heavy Duty APC, and this Snake Oil to quickly seal and protect the vehicle. This product is very similar to Griot's Foaming Poly-Gloss. Just a different color basically, but they pretty much do the same thing. You foam on, then rinse, although the Griot's you leave on the surface for like 10 minutes, and then rinse it off. The only problem I have with Chem-X products is that they are super expensive compared to other products on the detailing market. One gallon each of their stars and stripes is something like $150 and that's way too high. WAY too high. I understand they are catering to the big rigs and maybe those type places don't mind paying the high prices for a unique product like Chem-X but for car detailing, it's high. Great products, but too high priced. I am going over to the Mirror Finish site to see how much their touchless is compared to Chem-X. Another company is Wash Chems Pro-100 or Pro-50 touchless washes which I also use, which is a single product system for washing unlike the two bottle system of Chem-X. I guess the debate would be which one is better. Chem-X, Wash Chems, or Mirror Finish?

I use Koch Chemie POL STAR on my interior about 90% of the time. It literally cleans and protects everything inside the cabin (plastics, carpets, leather, alcantara, etc.) except glass. I have an extractor, but I usually only need a brush, some diluted POL STAR, and a microfiber to mop it up after agitating with a brush. I do use my extractor and steamer once or twice a year for deep cleansing of the fabrics and inside the cabin, but for any in between maintenance I just use a spray bottle of POL STAR mixed up. It's the perfect interior cleaner in my opinion and has a little bit of protection left behind as well. Another one I use for "maintenance" on well kept interiors is Soft 99 Wash Mist + (which can be used on EVERY surface inside including glass). I love the smell of the Wash Mist Plus and it's bottle is small enough to keep one inside your cabin at all times with a microfiber to clean up anything while on the go. It has a virucidal component to it also for light disinfecting. If I don't use those two, I use Gtechniq Tri-Clean which also has some light virucidal properties to it. Nice demonstration and explanation.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I also use P&S Finisher as an LSP after doing any fabric cleaning. I have used the P&S system in the past and it is also one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with the P&S three step system (I have used it in the past) and it is still one of the most economical systems to clean fabrics in any vehicle. The last step Terminator is always in my arsenal to neutralize any products being used on the fabrics to help try and mitigate or eliminate the possibility of re-wicking or the stains reappearing later. P&S is one of the best systems out there, especially for beginners and people who want to get good results the first time! Probably the best comprehensive carpet cleaning system on the market today. There is also another new system (similar to P&S' system) which is made by Labocosmetica. It's a bit pricier than the P&S system but reportedly works exceptionally well, with or without an extractor although I personally haven't tried the Labocosmetica one yet, but I want to.

Everything OBERK makes is awesome stuff. OBERK is a great brand that often goes unnoticed or under the radar so to speak in detailing circles. Very good products. I think the CEO or peeps involved over there at OBERK are professional detailers like a couple of other brands out there where detailers started their own brand eventually so they could have products made to their own specifications to use in their own businesses but they also sell their products.

Technicians Choice is some of the best valued products on the market today. If you pair Technicians Choice One Step Polish on a DA polisher, which is a one step polish and ceramic primer (so no panel prep is needed afterwards), and then I top it with Soft 99 Fusso Coat (EU Version) and then use the Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray once a month straight (not diluted), and after every wash diluted 1:1 as a drying aide. I always work in the shade so that may be a better option. I would always work in the shade if you can anyway (for people using this stuff at home) as anytime you wash a vehicle, it's just easier to work in the shade as you aren't chasing yourself all the time or respraying the panels with water to keep them wet. Technicians choice is one of the best values on the market for home detailers and enthusiasts and it won't break your bank either. Just buy a gallon for $40 and it will last you many years if you just use it on your own vehicles at home, especially if you dilute it 1:1 as a drying aide. You can also use it as a stand alone sealant but again, work out of the sun in the shade for a great user experience. Again, I couple it with Soft 99 Fusso Coat or even Collinite Super Double Coat wax as a base sealant after the use of the Technicians Choice One Step Polish/Primer. After I apply two coats of Fusso Coat (separated by 48 hours to let the first coat cure), then use this Technicians Choice Spray as the LSP after each wash! If you want the very best wax/sealant on the planet, that's Soft 99 Fusso Coat in my opinion. But it does take some prep steps. Do all the normal PREP stages (i.e. a good thorough wash with a good stripping soap like Wash Chems Pro-100 or Stars OR Chem-X Stars and Stripes, followed by an iron remover, clay mitt or bar, and finally a tar-x or bug and tar remover to fully prep the paint. I know it's a lot of steps and they certainly aren't required but for enthusiasts or weekend warriors, I would highly recommend the PREP stages. Once you get the prep work done, polish with the one-step polish to exfoliate the paint, enhance the gloss (even on new vehicles), and lay down a foundational layer of si02 primer. Apply two coats of Fusso Coat (must work in the shade with Fusso coat for the best possible experience), and I also coat my rims with Fusso Coat which has a high heat and chemical resistance and is one of the longest lasting waxes/sealants I have ever used for a traditional type of wax/sealant. I have never applied a full blown ceramic coating although I follow the same PREP stages just to ensure the paint is perfectly clean, polished, and ready for the two coats of Fusso and topper with the Technicians Choice Ceramic Spray. Occasionally I will top the Fusso Coat with NV Car Care Lustre spray sealant to add a bit of glow to the paint along with the fact that Lustre only extends the longevity for quite some time. Lustre along will give you at least 3 to 6 months of protection by itself, but as a topper to Fusso, it just makes the paint look like liquid glass! Then maintain all your work weekly or biweekly with the Technicians Choice Ceramic Spray Sealant or their Ceramic GRAPHENE Spray Sealant which is just a couple of dollars more per gallon. The choice is yours! Technicians' choice is the ULTIMATE CHOICE for people who want products that work as advertised and at a very reasonable price. Give them a shot, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how well these actually do work. Technicians Choice also have a great ceramic trim restorer and coating for black plastic trims. It has some sort of black oxide (visible in the bottle) or something in it that restores black trim for only $22 a bottle which is about 1/2 off or more compared to other similar products on the market. If you have faded trim, give it a shot. It gives several years of protection on black trim pieces rather than having to reapply a dressing over and over again. Sort of like Solution Finish black trim restorer. A very good brand of products that often goes under the RADAR so to speak in the detailing world.
