Because I have heard it a lot and almost never had a good chance to take a picture, I consider their call it be a mocking laugh towards wildlife photographers :D Lovely birds though

Those aren’t Eagles. Eagles don’t have that large of a clutch. They’re most likely Hawks.

Those aren’t eagles. They’re Hawks or Falcons. Probably hawks. They have a larger clutch than an eagle.

Never seen this woodpecker before. What is its name? It look about the size of the pileated woodpecker. Its call is quite unusual! Never seen it before. But I am sure there are hundreds of woodpeckers out there I have never even seen pictures of!
@maratonlegendelenemirei33522 жыл бұрын
It is simply named 'Black woodpecker'.
@TheRedSphinx Жыл бұрын
It's simply called Black Woodpecker, native to Europe and Asia. It's the second biggest woodpecker in the world, slightly bigger than it's American cousin, the Pileated Woodpecker. They are closely related and occupy the same ecological niche.

The Black Woodpecker is native to Europe and Asia. It occupies the same ecological niche as the North American Pileated Woodpecker, and the two are closely related. The Black Woodpecker is a little bigger than it's American cousin. However, the most common woodpecker in Europe is the smaller Great Spotted Woodpecker.

They are native to Europe and Asia, but they are a close cousin (though slightly bigger) of the North American pileated woodpecker.
