This is a very clear explanation with graphics that don’t mix the spoken description with a badly synced graphic. The wide view is includes magnified distinct color as the second neuron tracks through substantia gelatinosa. You completely address Lissauer’s tract as a site that modulates.

I detected this in one of my patients when I was doing my practical. I was in a district hospital where they don't have a neurosurgeon there but we do ask for consult from a central hospital. This patient was diagnosed with brain tumor but a benign one where it doesn't affect her daily activities. But after I informed the surgeon about the nystagmus, he immediately arranged transportation for the patient to have an emergency surgery. I'm glad that I have good observation skill. That patient was shocked that she had to have an emergency surgery yet glad that I detected something abnormal earlier before anything bad happens. Unfortunately I didn't get to know her status now. Wherever she is now, I hope she's doing fine.
