Would like to see Massimo Vignelli and Erik Spiekermann in a typographic showdown. Now it's too late.

His work is incredible, the way he portrays light and dark and his perspective is at times mesmerising. I can only hope and dream about being such a talented artist.

This was great. I really enjoyed his humour and I like how he showed us his most successful covers as well as the epic fails. It's good to know even pros have their designs rejected too.

The work is not bad but there are a lot of great designers out there. Rodrigo Corral for example. But this guy.. what an insufferable, annoying, irritating, intolerable fucking asshole. Instantly gets on my nerves, especially because he thinks he's funny.

I am in love with your work! As a tattoo artist I am obsessed with line work, if there was ever and way in hell I could tattoo those for you, I would be so happy! =)

I think what comes across as arrogance to you is supposed to come across as a joke in his eyes. It's his act. I personally think he's a genius and his covers are legit. I loved the one he did of santa with the guns and the little girl all scared. I hate seeing great ideas like that go to waste.

Artists should never have to explain their work. We should take from it what we can. I imagine Michelangelo would have told everybody to "fuck off".
@didiMao12 жыл бұрын
Well I'm just making sure! But in all seriousness, people are people but work is work. His arrogance, as you say, may be in part due to years of battling with authors/editors/digital format. Listening to his interviews I don't get that as much.
@vollsticks12 жыл бұрын
Neither. I don't think he's brilliant to be honest, certainly not enough to warrant his well-documented arrogance. And I say this as someone who happens to have a lot of Chip Kidd designed books on his shelves. Certainly not because he's gay!

Because he's brilliant or because he's gay?

Danger is one of the most unique artists working today. His drawing style is so interesting, and his exploration of twilight and shadows is unparalleled. This was a great watch and a fantastic look into Danger's mindset, thanks for posting it!

Fascinating video. I love Jeffers work, especially The Incredible Book Eating Boy, and it was great to see him tell the stories of how these came together so honestly and lay out his influences so clearly. Thanks for the upload.
