Amazing scene and a great movie. Had no idea a shot this epic was coming. He took everything Germany could throw at him and still overcame it all. Although I don't think I'll ever understand why he covers his eyes before the light hits them.

When Jesse walks out and the music plays it makes the moment more intensifying. The pressure becomes real.

They let him go win 4 gold medals for our country, but democrat President FDR refused to invite him to the White House after being triumphant in Nazi Germany. AND returning to a segregated United States. The evil of all mankind everywhere

Let’s not just focus on the negative. Jesse Owens was still well-loved & regarded by Americans even to this day in spite of all that

This scene just reminds me of how everyone was towards Russia during the Olympics or the fifa world cup, everyone didn't think Russia would be this aggressive country trying to annex Ukraine or threaten the world with nukes.

Credit should also be given to Ralph Metcalfe who was also in the same final as Owens and who competed in the 1932 Olympics with Eddie Tolan who won that final in 10.3 seconds as well.

I wish they shot the 10-sec dash in a slow-mo and with more drama, like flashbacks, spectators cheering, rather than like a matter-of-fact 10-sec dash, to make it at least as powerful as the entrance to the stadium scene.

Hollywood fiction. This was Germany in 1936, no different than today's China. And the same as today's China, nobody considered Germany a thread. And if you were black in 1936, wtf did you expect? A warm welcome and a box of chocolates from Hitler himself?
