i wonder if they will ever release the 270 model with the tyre shredders? Or maybe those would be such a choking hazard for children they won't risk it?

Corgi have messed about with different versions of the DB5 and decided to change the original silver 261 with a gold one which still sold well but it was actually based on the 1958 DB4 and had a different rear light cluster to the one in the film, Goldfinger. They also omitted the tyre shredders and rotating number plates but as it still sold millions, Corgi wouldn't be that bothered. Finally Corgi got their act together and produced a 261 in original silver with all the features including tyre shredders, rotating number plates and the correct DB5 rear light cluster in a 50th anniversary edition. Halleluiah. It was a limited edition and to my mind would be a more valuable collectors piece for the future if kept in pristine condition as it is the only true replica to the one in Goldfinger. I picked mine up for £25.00 from the Corgi Model club but you still see original 1964 battered versions going for twice that amount and more, on E-Bay. Corgi Model club have now re produced the original 267 version of the Batmobile due out in October 2024 for £40.00. Get your pre order in as I'm sure this will also be a limited production. See link. corgimodelclub.com/products/267-batmobile-with-batman-and-robin-gloss-edition

@@user-pi7xr9gi6s great to see the Batmobile coming. I'm already a subscriber of that club, so will be getting the exclusive matt black version in October. Looking forward to that very much! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts 👍
@user-pi7xr9gi6sАй бұрын
@@lorez8388 unfortunately they are not doing the matt black version and it will be the later gloss version which I don't mind as it was like the original. I just wish they would get the continuity right sometimes and added the pinstripes, clear windscreens and the drag chute packs at the back which were on the original car.
@lorez8388Ай бұрын

The thing with Dinkey, noticeably with the Eagle,Angels & Interceptor is there market research ( which probably amounted to a pub lunch) led them to believe kids would find mainly white toys boring.

'Ome M'Lady? Home Parker". Yeah, Hornby out did themselves on this one! its a Work of Art! They even made the Lights so they "Fade In and Fade Out" like 1960's Lights! Now that is real Attention to Detail! Yeah, I would not be brave enough to send it Round the Track, it would be an NRFB for sure with me...

I’m shocked it’s not just a upgraded Dinky! I thought that’s all the Corgi Gerry Anderson stuff is. Is it better to scale it was representing? Or was it cost cutting? And is the base or bottom half die cast too, or plastic like the later matchbox ones? And I agree with the TB2 I honestly don’t understand why they haven’t got rid of the obvious buttons (even paint them differently so they blend in.) But why not use a fake panel as a button, doesn’t ruin the looks and is discreet. But I have always hated it had plastic thrusters and legs (the dinky one had better detailing for the inside of the thrusters.) I would rather all metal, and more detail on it, more pods, vehicles, attachments, stands, fake thruster flames, for all the TB! Hope they make a TB5. Also the new Stingray could have been a bit better more gadgets, and just a bit bigger. Glad they made diecast version of it thiugh. And have you seen the new DB5 I was excited looks good, but then it’s only half way there. Doesn’t have the all the gadgets if the original. Why? I would happily pay more for such. I would love to see a new mould with extra details and all the gadgets and maybe more of the DB5 too. They know we want it so why aren’t they doing it? It’s blowing my mind. Sorry for the long post it’s just so annoying sometimes. Thanks for the video im close to preordering one and maybe a few more items.

Hi Lorenz! I fitted a 2200W inverter in my MB Sprinter. Similar configuration as you have with a leisure battery. I used an original MB start battery, AGM type,220Ah, 1150A. Will this battery do the job? What kind of battery do you use? I didn't change the alternator yet, its still the original one of a normal Sprinter van, not like in a camper van?! Regards, Edwin

Oh what a beauty! My local model shop had one in, I was tempted but it's a lot of money to pay for something that would just be displayed in my cabinet and not run! I watched Thunderbirds growing up but not obsessive about collecting memorabilia... I'd be too concerned about damaging it during a crash, to run it on the track.😊

This was a massive lost opportunity for Corgi. I had originally wanted one when they first announced it, but seeing the gross shape and detail errors, I no longer want one. The hull is the wrong shape, the iconic missile-tubes are massively wrong in shape (should not be squared-off at the back like that!), it's just so so so very disappointing compared to what could have been.

Biggest Scalextric models ever I think have to have been the Leyland Roadtrains from back in the 80's, both were full artics with the trailer too. They were... Interesting to race with. Can I give you a tip, run it occasionally, but don't go fast or risk coming off. It's a nice model and should be run but not for racing by any means.
