Hello, recently some keys of my asus vivobook got this squeaky plasticy noise and seems to have less resistance than the other keys, is there any fix that i could do to get rid of the squeak?

You’re hired! Nice job. I’m getting rid of a 15 year old computer I used when I was a teacher. My phone has become my new place for important files, etc. A little wistful I suppose, because I’ve decided I don’t need all those Social Studies power points, tests, assignments, etc.

Did the Bios reset by disconnecting the small round battery cord and it started up! Nothing else had worked, I am so relieved. Backing everything up now. Thank you!!!

It even had me download Windows 11 to do a complete restore (Not what I want to do) and it didn't work.

Off the topic, I use a Dell latitude 5590, I have forgotten the admin password and the laptop is experiencing boot loop. It seems the bios is the issue but I can't move ahead because of the admin password. What can I do to resolve this?

Ok this is cool.. BUT.. I have 3 monitors.. and when I move from desktop 1 to 2, only one monitor (the primary monitor) does what it is supposed to do.. the other 2 monitors retain the same open windows etc... so this doesnt work.. unless i am missing something?

hello. My notebook was on through the night (mistakenly) and when i came to it in the morning, the BIOS was on. I see that there is an SSD connected because it is visible in the "Storage", but it's not visible in the "Boot priority" tab. When I click on "Boot menu", it tells me that "The system cannot find any bootable devices". When I look into the Boot tab, I only see "Fast boot" (which is enabled), under thatthere is greyed out Boot Option Priorities and then "Delete Boot option" which is greyed out too.. I have no idea what to do, there is not any troubleshooting or support buttons anywhere. Any suggestions please?

Hey my Msi Bravo has done this twice now and I have had it for a year though it feels like less than a year. Don’t have an idea why it’s doing this the first time was when it updated and I had to factor reset it and I lost a lot of things I didn’t want to. Now it’s doing it again but I notice that it freezes up right after the num lock light goes off. I need help and don’t really feel like resetting the computer. Also it’s no longer under warranty.

Tried this and didn't get to the Windows screen. I just get stuck in a log-in loop. Any ideas?

Thank you very much. I saw my date and time was off then had to change my boot configuration from Legacy to UEFI. That worked like a charm. Took several minutes to reboot but it's up again. Had a power surge go through my office because the neighborhood transmitter blew out and rocked my computer's configuration. Appreciate the tips. Super helpful.

What screw size for the m.2? My philips heads arent fitting, hope ots nto a stripped screw :(

Additional tip: Put some thin adhesive tape (TESA) around the screwdriver to minimize scratches. However, before removing keys, try a very strong vacuum cleaner. In most cases there are particles in the mechanism, there is a good chance to pull them out.

What if you test both ram strips as instructed and it still beeps? (Obviously leaving at least 1 in the computer)

When i insert the usb and get to the next screen and although it installs it says os verification is turned off and when it restarts it just goes back to the your sytem is performing a critical update page andthen the screen goes black

Thanks, this was helpful. Pressed the button for a minute a few times, didn't help. The laptop doesn't have a detachable battery, so I screwed the back open, detached the battery ribbon cable from the motherboard, and repeated the procedure. After reattaching it, the laptop turned on! Very happy to get it fixed!

Acer Aspire A515-54. The Left Shift Key, which is larger than a normal key, has a cover that has clips attached underneath and 2 metal hinges. How do you put the hinged cover back on? Thank you.
