When you dedicate your life to helping others, help will always find you when you’re the one in need of it

I was advised by a close mentor & friend that's known me since I started my entrepreneurial journey at 18 to watch this film, he said this will perfectly explain and put into perspective my recent experiences... That ending with the quote "Remember no man is a failure who has friends" hit home. Wishing the best for you, whoever is reading this that if you are facing any troubles to gain the greater perspective and zoom out a little. As my dear friend tells me, let's go sit on his park bench on the moon, look down at where we are, what we are doing, our friends, our family, our community, our country, our world and see where things really are and where they could go with the right perspective!

Is it wrong of me that I started laughing when George was going off on Mrs. Welch? Also, when right after the kid asks George, “Dad, how do you spell hallelujah?” 😂

Whenever they run this movie they should put in a clip showing how much the 20,000 salary is worth on today's dollars. In 2024 this works out to about 250,000 per yeat.

I would also like to point out that no one knows that Mr. Potter actually has the $8,000 Uncle Billy lost, and Mr. Potter doesn't know about all the people who came to help George.

Maravilloso. Escucharlo en la capilla Sixtina con todo el ceremonial de la Semana Santa debía ser impresionante.

Watching Donna Reed laugh in such a effervescent and natural way as Jimmy Stewart keeps on dancing (semi-submerged, as if nothing has happened) is one of my fondest scenes in all cinema (and I'm now well into my fifties, so I've seen quite a lot of films over the years). It invariably brings the same unrestrained and undiluted smile to my dial. If I've had a difficult day, everything is suddenly washed away. IMHO, it's a powerful demonstration of the wonderful transcending power of movies.

This movies ending always gets me choked up because at its core it’s about someone realizing they are loved. Far too often we don’t tell people we love them. We just expect them to know it. But we never say it. And far too often people mistakenly believe that the world would be a better place without them. This is especially a problem plaguing men as in the last decade as self inflicted death rates have skyrocketed all around the world. It’s so easy to feel like you don’t matter anymore.

Holy moly that was an incredibly moving scene--had me almost balling and in seconds....in a current movie where movies are so predictable and full of violence GREAT movies can still move one to the strongest emotions

I believe this was the first film Stewart made after his heroic service in WW2. It also was his personal favorite. Seen it dozens of times, it never fails to choke me up.
