Oh JOY, I was riding along this morning taking my “OVERSLEPT” grandson to school. I CONDUCT when I hear wonderful music like this, YES I CONDUCT WHILE DRIVING. I CANT HELP IT. By the time we got to school, I can assure you my grandson was FULLY AWAKE.

I played this in 7th grade band, and i noticed it sounded alot faster and sounded a little little bit more chaotic. At 1:10 the tom-toms or whatever they’re called kept going, and in my band they stopped by then, which in my opinion, made it feel alot more powerful and somber just letting the percussion be quiet, it also works for the buildup where you go from no percussion to lots of percussion once it gets faster. You and you band still did great tho

any other horn players living up with the constant struggle of playing for your section? in one part, apparently we have too many places where we can be heard. I like being heard, unlike the other three horns.

In my band there was only two flutes two saxophones like 6 clarinets 6 trumpets 2 baritones no drums and three trombones and the lowbrass overpowered all the other instruments.

The dynamic contrast in this performance is outstanding. When the drums come in with full ensemble, I’m curious as to whether or not the sheet music is noted “mezzoforte” as it sounds like.

We have fewer people in our band, grade 8, and our sound was balanced better. You could hear the flutes and clarinets. I play alto sax, and the 29 bars of tongued quarter notes kill the jaw and cheeks, your entire face in general. Especially for people like me that have jaw and teeth problems. Oh yeah, my neck strap isn't even padded, so after long concerts, my neck has been cut by my neck strap, and my 11 year old alto is all scratched and dented, and is a different shade of gold than the rest( which are all new) making me look out of place.
