This footage was wonderful and nostalgic. In addition to the video, I'm also very interested in the music which accompanied it. Any idea on the names of the tunes? Especially the 2 songs which played to the parade itself. That second one during the parade had me in constant motion. Fantastic stuff. I would appreciate any assistance you could supply. Thanks, Scott.

I wonder why the Monster and Round Up were removed when you can still find them at other parks? Shouldn't Hershey keep rides that are still around?

Nice old video. I'm creating a virtual parade for Lebanon for Saturday and found your video. Could I get your permission to use and share this video for your community? Thanks.

Would you say this car is salvageable?
@vidiarcheology7824 жыл бұрын
Possibly. It was damaged by the barn fire. I think by now it would be really rusted out though.

Did Hershey Park ever have one of those spinning floors that send you flying off via centrifugal force? I know I was on what as a kid somewhere in Pennsylvania..
@vidiarcheology7824 жыл бұрын
Hi. It had one called the Rotor where you stood around on the inside and it spun and then the floor dropped down while you were stuck to the wall.
@johnbowman10764 жыл бұрын
@@vidiarcheology782 No, I hate that ride. I'm talking about the one where only the floor spins and you try to stay in one place or centered.

One thing I'd be scared shit of, how would you know the level of rot the floorings have., and the stairs that you climbed up. I saw a board broke going down to the cellar, but how were you so sure that the steps would support your weight? If you broke a bone and gone to the hospital, I suppose you would have some questions to answer.

CHECK THIS OUT!!! very interesting.... 3:52 She says: -There was a basement. He ignored her comment and kept on taking video. At 3:59 there's a whisper saying: -??? hey ??? Scott. (EVP?) he was able to hear it. He replies: What? She says: -There was a basement she says it as if he was just replying to the first time she said it but nothing special to cause her to whisper... He noticed that probably she didn't whisper so he asks: THERE'S SOME ONE HERE? She says: -no... He replies there's an upstairs too... as he ignores what just happened. at 4:13 after he says "I'm going upstairs" another whisper says:- LETS FOLLOW HIM...(hidden in the bird's song) How ever most likely it was her but.... why would she whisper....? ANY COMMENTS ON THIS?

My extended family were located in the Village of Christmans, which was about 20 miles out of town, towards Camelback. I know that area has been really developed. When the Beltzville Dam had the go-ahead, slowly but surely emptying the town's it would cover, hunting abandoned buildings became the odd pastime- little be little everyone had gone-I some instances they simply left a lot behind. As time went by, old farmers dies off, children long gone. You could see Apple tree fields, old schoolhouses, churches. Great capture. Jim Thorpe (MauChunk when I was young) had some fairly creepy stuff all over.) my stand out memory was coming down off the mountain to go to the 4th fireworks.

Jim Johnson Depends on the climate where that is. Where I live in Houston Texas a car would look that way after about 10 years or so. But in Eastland Texas where I lived as a teen that would take 30 years to be that way or longer

interesting old place, imagine the activity of the family that lived there and how it must have looked. My aunt and uncles old place had it's own little graveyard with kin buried there. I think back in years that was a somewhat common practice on old family farms.
