Maybe move that workbench another foot back?
@Hairyegg23 күн бұрын
I did see a type R motor in an 1100 but never saw it completed and an mg turbo put in an 1100 that needed the bulkhead cutting back to fit, what your doing is methodical engineering approach, now subscribed cheers for posting

What model is this as dash looks different to my 1100s I had back in the 70s.
@madmorrie1100Ай бұрын
This started life as the normal 1100 dash we got here is Australia, but I did make a lot of alterations to fit the Starlet gauges into it.

My 1963 mini that I bought in ‘71 came in that colour! I have photos! 👍😁👌

Were they actually called “Austin Americas” in Oz?
@madmorrie1100Ай бұрын
The Austin America was only sold in the US I think, maybe Canada as well? In Australia they were all sold as the Morris 1100.

Looks like a Leyland colour YELLOW DEVIL
@madmorrie1100Ай бұрын
The yellow I used is actually a factory GM colour called Hazard Yellow.

Love your work! I'm jb007 on the Ausmini forum BTW. Watching your build progress both on the forum and KZbin brings back good memories of my EFI conversion of my '68 Morris Mini project long gone onto the new owner. 👍

Thanks mate. Been a real long while in the making this one hey?

Amazing stuff mate. Finding any kind of brake upgrades for these are near impossible - and you've developed a bolt-on solution! Any chance you can share/ could sell the cad files for the bracket and hub pieces you got machined?
@madmorrie1100Ай бұрын
Hi there. I designed these in fusion 360. I'd be happy to share the files, however I am by no means an engineer. Also they may not be a direct bolt on to every 1100, I am running 1500 uprights with the larger CVs which are slightly longer so the design would need to be tweaked a bit. And these only just fit under my 14 inch wheels. A different caliper may help with clearance.

@@madmorrie1100 Hi. Love your work man. Please could I also request the files? Cheers

Wot? No comments? Only just found this. Keep it up ... I'm pondering a return to Austin/Morris-dom with a re-engined car as a DD (cos I can). 15 seconds is more than respectable. Any advances since posting?
@madmorrie11003 ай бұрын
Still working away at it. Trying to get it all painted and pretty by the end of the year. Hopefully will turn up the boost a bit and hit the track again next year.

Do you have a build thread on this or something? Cheers

You still got this account? I'd love to see what ya have done to it now, thinking about buying a turbo kit for my 1100
