Those where easier times. Just rock on stage without complex distracting LED panels, effects and what not. AWESOME performance by the Guano Apes!!!! Miss those days

Have to say that several covers are better - but original are most important!

7:45 Matt saying the most important thing he learned from John Lekie was the importance of concentration on a good performance…that a lot of bands when recording now use computer editing to ‘fix things’ like if the drummer doesn’t play well, or tiny things like little discrepancies and little mistakes, you can ‘fix’ them. I think what John Lekie taught me is that those things are what make it human. My thoughts here; this is a very profound statement coming from a very young Matt that the band has carried forward to this day. One of the reasons for their musical excellence in recordings and live concerts. All thanks to the wise advice of John Lekie.

I love looking back on the inside story of the early days of MUSE. I missed so much by only finding out about them a little over a year ago and now they are my favorite band!

This was uploaded 8 years ago in 2016 when this footage was already 16 years old. Time is flying, these kind of bands with character are really missing these days. In 2000 when Guano Apes was really a fresh, top bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn, Rage against the machine, HIM, Slipknot, System of a down, Soulfly were all new and the scene was blooming, there were even skateboarding events with live concerts like Vans Warped Tour and on the top the whole metal, nu metal, hip hop scene with all related stuffs like skateboarding, other cultural side projects were a coherent whole with lots of community feeling. Somehow this is missing and I feel sorry for the young people of these days as they might have many new stuffs, but they won't even know how this was and how organically it developed in the 90s, 2000s.

That time was pure madness growing up. All these subcultures, all with their own trademarks - super different but somehow still one. At parties, you could immediately see who belonged to which one, who listened to which music and what style they were into. No social media, no TikTok, no Facebook - people still texted each other, at best, because every message cost money. I thought it was absolutely great to grow up in those days.
