unpopular opinion: I was skipping around and I thought the adult had led poisoning. Im not saying this happened, but smoking does make you more careless, making your children more prone to neglect.

I watched many Saturday afternoon movies there. I loved the Lorenzo theater. It was always so fun to go and look at the murals on the walls before the movie. The snack bar area was so cool.. Kavanagh liquor across the street where we'd buy candy before the show. Thank you for restoring this wonderful place.

I’m curious if you can solve a San Lorenzo mystery from my childhood there. I grew up there in the 1990’s and loved it as a kid, I had a lot of older neighborss who had lived there since they were kids themselves. We used to hear talk once in a while of an underground bowling alley(I could be wrong) that’s used to be there, something major happened there and it was shut down and sealed off. One of my neighbors was letting us go through old newspapers and we came across an article about this but it was snatched out of our hands before we could read it. My sisters and I were always trying to figure out what happened, we even would go to the San Lorenzo library and look at old newspapers but could never find it. When we did ask about it to some of the older people that were around at the time they would never talk about it. This made it even more mysterious to us. Even now as an adult living in Arizona this mystery still comes to mind every so often but I have had no luck getting any answers. Any info would be great if you are willing to talk about it.

My parents moved to San Lorenzo in 1957. We lived on Via Descanso and I went from Kindergarten (Village School) through High School (SLZ 1971). I then left for the Army. When I retired we came back to San Lorenzo, and at 70 still live there. I remember every store and business in the Village. Yes. There was an underground bowling alley in SLZ. It was located on the same side of the square as Mervyn's under a Rexall drug store and a Dentist office. It was open when I left in 1971. Hope that helps you.😊

@@richardgrimes4440 I remember that bowling alley next to Mervyn's. My Mom worked at Mervyn's for years. I grew up in the area and went to Lorenzo Manor elementary.

My son had lead over 20 when he was 18 months old. They are down under 10 now. It takes a long time to come out of their system he is in speech therapy and is about to start special education pre school. However he can say all of his abcs he knows numbers, shapes, his colors. I believe that with the preschool he will be in line with other children his age. Please pray for us

It's so nice to hear that there are teens working towards de-stigmatizing mental health. Even just talking to my friends, there's this idea that services like therapy are unnecessary or unhelpful, so it is so, so amazing that there are teens like you who are challenging those beliefs. Keep up the work!
