Hiya mark, thanks for watching the videos, we do not have a compulsory pedigree system here in the Uk, nor do we have any tags or way of identifying the animals, some people micro chip them, but for judging purposes all cavies are anonymous

I have a very strict quarantine policy for new animals incoming, but my after show care routine involves viricidal wipes, anti mite spray and ivomec for the cavies, and viricidial wash for the boxes

I think they are actually 5 generations of older boars

I use surgical spirits and a cotton wool bid to break down the grease then wash the pig, you can also use washing up liquid on the grease spot..lol some people use swarfega

These guinea pigs aren’t for sale the breeders (not me) are experts in their breed and the cavies are kept immaculately and training well, Simon speaks of breed specific faults only, not in relation to the health of the Guinea pig. I support adoption 💯 and work with Avalon Guinea pig rescue here in the Uk ( you may have seen them on the Netflix movie keeper of the pigs). I will check out your rescue and see the good work you do also. 🥰

Yes static live was correct, seems there was a small outbreak at the show on a few exhibits, not the fault of the exhibitor and it is not an inherent fault , here in the Uk it is a penalisation not a disqualification

There were 70ish cavies, and yes the Himalayans were stunning !

Was the idea of Campbell the secretary, and if I get the opportunity to do it again at a show I will gladly do it again

I am sure our paths will cross again and we can have a catch up

@guineapigswithgreg4575 we have one,he's called anothony. He's verry lively. We can't stop him moving long enough to clip his claws. Did you know there are only 4 breeders of magpies in the UK? I got one vid of him sitting on me (vis on my shorts)
