Chimes help you sort the wood by diameter. Each one has a different tone. Don’t even notice them really. Camera is by the computer so it seems louder.

Cannot stress enough how important proper knife sharpening is. Don't be afraid to use a knife gauge frequently and remove however much material it takes to get that 30* angle. Dress them up frequently, and they shouldn't struggle much with tops like those pines. Helps with feed traction and smooth feeding as well

@@GreatLakesLogger All of it is chipped. Nothing with FEMA can be resold. Less branches on the ground makes it easier to throw on a forwarder and get it carried to a pile for debris trucks. Most of these logs were prob 10-14’ and then splitting the tops in half.

Smooth operation with that stuff,well done. I’ve also got the Action 4 and love it,GoPro can pound it. They’ve had years to fix bugs,bad battery life and overheating,never did. The DJI is superior in many ways,ease of use being huge. Be careful out there,looking good!

I work at the factory, and i can tell you that you should stick with ponsse. Komatsu always buys the cheapest materials and the people who assembles the machines dont even like working there, so you wont be getting any quality as they promise. But thats just from my point of view

Just amazed how much lumber that they can produce in a day! I've got a Hudson H360 -bandsaw that travel SE Wisconsin to cut logs for clients. Love sawing lumber. Great job on the new machine!

From one logger in the northeast can you be profitable in that wood? Looks like a hard go from here. But I don’t know your markets or production.

@@stevenwescott1422 Strong pulp markets here. Most logs are 8’11” for Railroad ties. All types of markets. So, in turn yes. Lots of private land in a DNR program that makes landowners cut wood or pay back taxes.

@@ponsseguy It’s different, up closed better than C5. Our farther no, different boom angle. Cutting off stump, way different. You extenda boom in to lift up. Overall took me 3 hours to ge the hang of it. Cutting more wood now than I was with ergo.

@@GreatLakesLogger Huldtins makes a grease system that integrates with the Supercut saw units so no reason they couldn't do it. Someone from Ponsse told me recently that the grease system is popular enough he's sure they won't drop the option.
