Oh I wish that were true but I have my moments. More than I care to admit. But it's a process and every single day I strive to get a little bit better. It's easy to sit on the video and share what people need to do but actually doing it is where most of us fail. We have to put in the work to get better and we have to want to get better for the right reasons. Not to impress others but to be proud of ourselves. It's a process - at least for me - to remember that last part especially.

I have a topic for our next call! Seriously, there are so few categories that we as adults can really put people into. It's easy to forget that there is a separate class outside of our professional lives of people we choose to associate with - separate from colleagues, acquaintances, neighbors or other people we are in more of a compulsory relationship with. You hit it on the head with intentionality, working clearly on a social relationship is one of those skills that needs exercise or we lose it...

I mean... There is some common sense here. But I think you are missing out on the realities people face. Its not really sound advice, or even a sound metaphor. Its presumptive of opportunities while trivializing barriers which is, factually, the most common bias of people who succeed. Going to have this a D+. The will is there, but you didnt spend the time with the people who needed the pep talk, to hear their ideas, strategies and blah blah blah to understand the fundemental issues at play for people who are struggling. Frankly, you need to step out of the shower and start swimming in the bathtub.

I don't know your circumstances, and you probably don't know mine. I'm happy to have a conversation with you outside of comments about both. Let me assure you, I've worked with people from all walks of life. Many of them have lost everything and can not imagine changing their circumstances because the obstacles seem too great. So, there is absolutely no presumption about opportunities or the lack thereof. I appreciate your perspective and your willingness to share it. However, the time and effort you took to write your comment and conclude it with an intended insult misses the mark. I will say that if you want me to address something specific to you or someone you may have in mind when you view content like this, I am more than happy to give it a try. Perhaps I will hit the mark more closely for you and actually help you see that the only reason I do what I do is to help make the world (and the people in it) a little bit better. That's my goal to have a positive Ripple Effect out there in the world. But if you are down to chat, I am totally game to hear more of your thoughts and see how I can serve you (or yours) better. LMK. Have an awesome day and Ripple On!!!

@@SteveHarperrippleon Ah, you know what. I had just come from an argument when I wrote this. I feel my observation still stands, but I also owe an apology. I am sorry for my misplaced anger. I appreciate that you want to send out well meaning messages, but as someone who has a number of barriers and a considerable drive to achieve the presumptive nature of your advice struck me as hollow. People don't fail because they want to, they aren't in poor conditions because they want to be. The opportunity to belong to a group of people who are aligned with your interests, particularly ones who will better you, are difficult to find. Add in other problems people might face like disabilities, neurodiversity, discrimination, etc. Simply telling the person to jump in the right pool is akin to telling them the sky is the limit, even if you miss you land among the stars. A cold vacuum indeed. Blanket therapy is condescending to the people who need help. It's not going to help people who need specific information, the courage to face their limitations, or to ask for help. People don't need any more cat posters telling them to, "hang in there."
@SteveHarperrippleon3 ай бұрын
@@dps8629@dps8629 Hey, if you have barriers, I'm happy to talk to you about them and see where or if I can help. I promise no cat posters. Just to let you know, the video isn't a panacea, nor was it designed to be a one-size-fits-all kind of video. I get everyone has different perspectives and it's these perspectives that lend themselves to conversation and dialogue, much like we are having here. You never know why someone ends up in your life's path, but if you don't take the time to explore it, then you may be missing out on something really great. My D+ video might have cracked the door open just a tiny bit and led you here, but let's see if we both have what it takes to keep the door open or at least keep it from slamming shut. And thank you for the apology - though one wasn't necessary. It's okay to call it like you see it. That's what makes this thing called the Internet so great. But just know, I am not letting you off that easy and I am truly holding space to see if there's still yet a Ripple here to be created.

Great content! Finding time for self-care is so important, and this video touches on key points. To reach an even wider audience, consider optimizing the video title and description with targeted keywords and a more engaging format. Small changes can lead to big results in views, likes, and engagement! I'd be happy to help if you're looking to boost your video's visibility.

This appeared in my recommendations randomly and the relatively short length coupled with the somewhat catchy title and a kind looking person in the thumbnail made me intrigued. I was really hoping for an interesting take on the statement from the title. It pains me that this turned out to be... trivial.
