We have this printer but we can't seem to be able to print halftones for screen printing separation on it. We don't have a fiery RIP. But we have Adobe Acrobat PS. We also print using adobr acrobat..please how can we achieve halftone prints to be visible on the film for color separation. Thank you

Sorry for the late reply. Not sure if I understand correctly but in Acrobat, if you select print and go to print settings, you should be able to select separations and choose the colors to print. Hope this help.

@@CECThailand I am not referring to color separation half tones. I am referring to a composite print halftone.. I am talking about sending an artwork to the printer and controlling the size of halftone used. By default it uses between 85-216lpi/ what if I want to do 45lpi?

Symmetry Printing bought the first machine in the US.. Serial N. 002 and we encountered a multitude of issues with the printer. Initially, there were problems with the ink not curing properly, resulting in the boards sticking together. We also experienced issues with smudging of the white ink and noticeable banding on our prints as well lots of media scratching because the table was never leveled when installed (table was leveled after the first year and lots of damage media). Vacuum-related problems were widespread, which forced us to apply tape to secure most of our materials. As of now, the printer has essentially become a large, non-functional piece of equipment because Ricoh never took the necessary steps to address or replace it. I firmly believe that the root of these problems can be traced back to the technicians' lack of expertise. In fact, within the first three months and after a couple of technician visits, the machine had to undergo a complete rebuild with new heads. This was due to the fact that two technicians essentially mishandled the machine, resulting in a catastrophic failure where negative pressure was compromised, causing all the ink to spill onto the table and my office floor. This incident further highlights the technicians' lack of proficiency. In contrast, I have not witnessed these issues with the new machines that utilize updated ink, and the vacuum system has since been relocated and repaired. I don't know about the techs :D We had to buy a new flatbed (Other Brand)) in order to fulfill orders and not send those out. While I still believe that the Ricoh offered superior quality and speed, the inadequate support, service, and responsiveness from Ricoh have brought us to this point where they are unwilling to replace the machine, despite my willingness to continue making the remaining payments. As a side note, Machine Serial No. 003 was sold online for $7500. YES... No typos $7,500!!!

If you decide to let it line dry, what should the settings of the heat press be if you want to prepare the printing surface (degrees, timer, tightening)

To prepare the surface, user can press the shirt in a heat press for 10-15 seconds at 165°C (~330°F) at 120-130 psi. Do make use of non-stick or parchment papers as well.

In the case that you don't let the pretreat dry by itself , but want to do it with the heatpress , what should the settings of the heat press be (degrees, timer, tightening)

A thin, disposable parchment paper, non-stick papers, or non-stick polymer sheets are the preferred material for this step. This type of paper gives best uniformity in drying, and enables better evaporation of the volatile. These sheets should only be used once per garment and then disposed. If unavailable, alternative non-stick paper may be used. Dry the pre-treated garment with the heat press (using the parchment paper or non-stick polymer sheet as a barrier from the press) for 30 seconds at 165°C (~330°F) at 120-130 psi (if it is not possible to measure the pressure, 120-130 psi is likely a “high pressure” setting).
