Hello thank you for the video it is thanks to you that I found the fault it was the fuse on the right side which blew I have a question can I replace it with a standard 8 Ampere fuse or take the same reference as the old fuse written on it T8L 250v . thanks
@foodieryder Жыл бұрын
I will definitely replace it with the exact fuse that was because I don't know any better than the original engineers. :)

@@foodieryder Cool. I always wonder why any EV would not come with LEDs since they use less power. My 2016 Kia Soul EV+ has LED everything EXCEPT for the headlights, which are HID (high intensity discharge). I may at some future date switch to LED, though most of my driving is during the day currently. I'm trying to talk my wife into getting an electric car and we've discussed a used Nissan Leaf since they are available ALL over the place and for well under $10,000 (used) and in good shape.

Is there any benefit to using white vs black liner?
@foodieryder7 жыл бұрын
Color does not matter for moisture. Now if you'd like the crawlspace to light up well white is better than black for obvious reasons.
@mattgarrett40437 жыл бұрын
You can use the plastic you use to cover the ground...wrap it 12+ inches high and pin nail with pin nail gun...1 inch pin nails w washers, Then vapor tape the seam and vapor tape ( 4in sticky tape) the bottom 4 sides. Many company's mastic goo with paint brush the top to seal...some use expanding spray foam on the top. Tip: fold the top down 1/2 inch or more so the top has a lip so the spray foam has something to sit on. Beat thing to do is go to a subdivision in your area that is new and homes are being constructed that have sealed crawl spaces. Always finish the project with a remote humidity temperature gauge that tells you from your first floor what the humidity in your crawl space is...at a simple glance. Seal your sill plate for optimum sealing and hydrocement any below grade pipe penetrations..ie: sewer...put a hose down your gravity drain for 30 min and see if it backs up...better to know now than when you have a pipe leak and your crawl is a swimming pool. Hope that helps... www.SealedSolution.com Would you do it again...looking back? What humidity numbers did your crawl space produce...on average.

question my crawl space half is wet the floor I think the water came from underneath ,if I use the plastic will help with the ugly smell ???
@foodieryder7 жыл бұрын
It'll be good to identify the source of the water and remedy that. Usually ground water does not rise and its likely coming from outside under the foundation walls. Make sure drains around the house is directing water away from the foundation. After you rectify the water intake problem, the plastic should improve conditions. Fixing the water source is crucial whether you cover crawlspace or not.

***** I tried find the problem but I can't , everything look fine to me , which place need to look ? The gutter are fine , I putting 12" long for water ...
@foodieryder7 жыл бұрын
Is it wet year round? What kind of terrain is you house on? What kind of geo region? Do your neighbors have water under the house? Any drain or plumbing pipe drip? i.e. try to isolate the problem as 'area common problem' vs 'your house problem'. Maybe get a pro to diagnose the problem.
@mattgarrett40437 жыл бұрын
Look for pipe penetrations in your foundation wall especially ones located uphill coming in from below ground...usually sewer...hydrocement those will shut down significant amounts of water. www.SealedSolution.com Raleigh, NC

nice job !!!!! the dimpled black plastic. is the stuff that is used on foundation walls? and what sort of plastic did you use over the black membrain?
@foodieryder8 жыл бұрын
I only laid the dimpled plastic on the floor. The white plastic is 14 mil from vaporbarrier.net. If I have to do it again, I will only use the black plastic. The white plastic and the covering the walls is only necessary if the walls seeps water.
@mattgarrett40437 жыл бұрын
Any plastic over 10 mil is a 2-ply plastic ...black on one side...white on the other. These have been known for producing a strong cat pee smell in some crawl spaces. I only use 10 mil and layer it 2,3,4 times if necessary for high traffic or good storage area's that need more protection thickness. Companies who use more than a 10 mil have had the cat pee smell happen to them so most of them keep a vent OPEN on either end of the crawl???? or they have an exhaust outlet that blows conditioned dry air OUT of your crawl...wasting your energy dollars???? Just don't use inferior products and you won't have to BANDAID your crawl space service. Imagine having to have it paid to be ripped out and replaced???? Ouch...I do that 2-3 times a year for customers who were sold into more mil is better. www.google.com/search?q=cat+pee+smell+crawl+space+2+ply&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 www.SealedSolution.com Raleigh, NC

@foodieryder8 жыл бұрын
I did not need a dehumidifier as there was no way for moisture to come in.
@mattgarrett40437 жыл бұрын
Moisture rises from the ground...wait till more humid months. WHEN it happens don't dehu... simply put a 1 ...4in hole in distribution box per 1500 sf 3 foot high of crawl space and put a REMOTE humidity sensor in the crawl so from your kitchen you can always tell what level your crawl space humidity is. $19.99 Google..."remote humidity monitor." www.SealedSolution.com Raleigh, NC

Where did you purchase the thick dimpled membrane? What brand is it?
Good stuff! Absolutely awesome video and great explanation as to the benefits of having a vapor barrier. You just made my decision to install this so much easier
@mattgarrett40437 жыл бұрын
Make sure all seams are taped...columns and walls ...just overlapping alone in SE US will not stop enough moisture coming from the ground to get your crawl under 60% humidity without putting too many 4 in holes in your distribution box to lightly feed your crawl space with dry conditioned air. If your crawl space is 63 F it is cold where you are and cold air is dry air. It would be nice to get a humidity reading in June, July August without taped black liner. Untaped overlap...need in SE 2 air lines per 1500 sf at 3 ft tall Taped overlaped along with wrapped columns...need 1 air line per 1500 sf/3ft tall Taping seams allows you to push more AC air into your home and not your crawl. Air supply line is a 4 inch hole cut in your SUPPLY side distribution box with a rubber sealed butterfly baffle air exhaust. www.SealedSolution.com Raleigh, NC
