Couple of years ago, MLB installed a pitch clock. It took a season for the pitchers to adapt and it created an increase of runs scored, especially with weekday pitchers. Betting the over on certain games was profitable until the pitchers adjusted to the rule change.

The problem with BookitTrent is he’s being paid to promote what can become a dangerous addiction for many. To simply shrug as if gambling cannot become as serious as drug or alcohol addiction is naive. Predatory marketing from sportsbooks and promoting of degenerate behavior for engagement is an irresponsible recipe for disaster. The demographic being targeted is getting younger and younger.

I would say also with home improvements, pick the flooring, tile, molding, etc that you like cause if you settle for something else, you’ll eventually pay again to redo it. Don’t get cheap laminate flooring and carpet.

Rob - to your point on betting proportionally to your bankroll. For several years in a row, I’ve encountered the reverse of the example that you mentioned. In that I repeatedly grow my bankroll early in the season (specifically on NCAAF totals) and by midway to two thirds of the way through the season, my bankroll is up 50%-100% (high volume system using roughly ¼ Kelly). Yet, inevitability I hit a rough patch (presumably as the market catches up) and I end up giving back too much, given that my average bet size is now 50-100% larger than at the beginning of the season. In hindsight, the obvious answer is to try to adjust more to the market after a certain point. But I’m curious if you’ve encountered this in your own betting and what you’d suggest.
@CirclesOffHQ4 күн бұрын
Great question, man. I’ve totally been there, but really depends on your style of betting. Maybe consider capping your unit size growth at some point or even tightening up your volume as the season progresses.

prizepicks does not label 3x bets as “+300”, they simply use european odds. a +200 is a 3.0, or in this case, a 3x. only shady part is they label your winnings as +300 profit, when you don’t actually “win” 3x your bet, rather collect. but personally never had a problem with this when i used these DFS apps, immediately identified what they were doing. some sportsbooks do it as well

Well done gentlemen. Appreciate all the work Johnny; a classy exit. Solid episode too, had the effect of making me focus on all the gross, highly-tempting, -EV demons I constantly fight … buying (more than selling) points, waiting too long for the elusive “perfect” info, overvaluing what I think I “know” vs. what the market is telling me is true … it’s all a few cents here, a few there, until it’s thousands in the aggregate. Here’s to learning and improving in 2025!! 🎉

I have a winning betting strategy for NCAA basketball... i bet live over in first halfs where both teams are in the bonus and if the 1st half live total is lower than the original total. It's been hitting at 70-75% clip for me. The thing is it requires total concentration, you need to look at the lines constantly and the foul totals. More fouls = more free throws = more points! Then i compare the live lines between a bunch of book and hit on the lowest number. It's amazing how 1 or 2 points difference between books is the difference between winning and losing.

Rob here, I have not consumed a ton of books in this space but a few other reads I’d recommend are Sharp Sports Betting by Stanford Wong, Weighing the Odds in Sports Betting by King Yao, and Trading Bases by Joe Peta. Each offers unique insights into different aspects of betting.

Thanks Johnny for all the insight and info. Hope everything goes well for you. I want you to know that your Uber Eats Discussion caused me to do something weird today. I'm a farmer and a local restaurant uses the produce I grow. I have always wanted to try their food. These are good hard working people and I didn't wan't to ask for a freebie. The place is on Uber Eats but I have had similar problems as Rob with their service. So I did this I called the restaurant and ordered like 10 dishes to be picked up. When the restaurant called and told me my food was ready I called Uber and had them drive me to pick up the food. Turns out that doing thin in a slightly less convenient way saved me 50 bucks and endless frustration. This is a pain in the ass way of doing things but I feel like I got one over on them. Thanks for the content.

My thoughts… This channel is the best in betting. It’s a bummer to see Johnny leave the show…. However, Rob, Circle Back is the BEST show in the betting space-it’s even better than this show, which I didn’t think was possible. Rob, Circle Back is going to surpass this show in popularity, probably in 2025. Lastly, why is Johnny leaving? Is it personal? Did I miss the reason in the video?
@CirclesOffHQ9 күн бұрын
I’m thrilled to hear you’re enjoying Circle Back as much as you are. We’ve put a lot into making it unique, and it’s awesome that it’s resonating with you. As for Johnny, there’s nothing personal behind his decision. He’s just shifting his focus to other opportunities, and we fully support him in that. He’s been an integral part of this channel, and while we’ll miss him, the door’s always open for a return.

The sports betting educational content space is a tough grind. When you guys started this podcast 3yrs ago there was nothing in regards to sports betting educational content. I left my job at SportsInsights working for Dan Fabrizio (Now Unabated) in 2018 to start my own betting education platform and youtube channel, 6yrs ago there was even less educational content. Theres definetley easier ways to grow a channel but it comes down to morals and principles and doing things the right way.

News, follow a division that removes your bias. If you like an AFC team then follow 1 NFC division. It removes bias. Watch games of that division. Also you must learn how not to take any bet on a game. Sometimes the books have it dead on. The line is just about perfect and at that point you will NEVER beat the vig. The best bet you can make is knowing when their is no bet, despite the time you put into researching that game. I tell myself, it's a true coin flip and move on. And one other thing and this may sound dumb af, but you should know player skill level automatically. I actually do this by playing sports games, yea. Billy Walters in his book said you need a rating system, and you could even use Madden rankings. If you buy Madden, NBA 2k and MLB The Show you will know players, and when injury news breaks you'll know the impact without research. It may sound dumb but it works.,
