It certainly looked crowded! Crowds drive me crazy! Even the Melbourne CBD defeated me today. I could not wait to get out of there! Though the heat did not help. Brussels is not the city to visit in Belgium, In Flanders any major city but Brussels is a safe bet, in Wallonia you are best of visiting the smaller towns such as Dinant or Durbuis but Tournai. Brussels by virtue of it's history allready suffered from the loss of it's own culture and that left it vulnerable for what you see there now. it is just a mismanaged wreck of a city with to much bureaucracy where nobody is responsible because everyone is, you want something to be done they'l send you in circles, but if you do anything there will be 3 agencies at your door with different conflicting demands, druggs and crime have gone rampant now as well, as the mocro maffia seems to have moved in and there are loads of desperate morocan migrants living on the streets but still prefering to make a modest amount of money in Brussels rather than a fraction of it in Moroco, it needs to end
@GavinAndPaulSeeTheWorldАй бұрын

I would definitely have tried one of the donuts! LOL! Also, I would like to go to a performance at La Monnaie. Dame Nellie Melba made her debut there. And I believe they have a statue of Hercule Poirot, which I would need to be photographed with, as a disciple of Agatha. For background on how Belgium paid for all those grand buildings, read a book called King Leopold's Ghost. King Leopold personally owned The Congo in Africa. He milked the people in the worst ways possible. Literally, it was one of the scandals of the age. Even the other European Colonial powers were aghast at what happened there. It paid for a lot of palaces in Brussels, but at an horrific human cost in Africa. I have the book but so far I have not been able to bring myself to read it. Thank you for the video! I really did enjoy your take on Brussels and if I do go there, I will be cautious about where I have my pancakes!

I'm a bit skeptical regarding the relevance of your Bonjour test. You generally don't greet people you cross paths on the street, but only the people you intend to interact with. In my view, not responding in this context is definitely not a sign of rudeness, especially in a town. It may be something different in the countryside where you would meet very few people and where a greeting to a complete stranger would seem more natural. Well, that is my feeling being a countryside guy.

The Little Blue Lake in Mount Gambier has been turning green instead of its usual blue because of algae, tiny plants that thrive in water with lots of nutrients. Recently, increased runoff from fertilisers used in nearby farms has been washing into the lake, providing these nutrients. This extra food causes the algae to grow more than usual, making the water appear green. It’s similar to how a garden gets overrun with weeds if you add too much fertiliser.
