julie mead thats a dead end street . No houses after mine, only three homes in the street so there is no risk. I would never put him at risk, this boy means the world to me :)

I have owned two generations of Great Pyrenees and most them (not all) do this sort of thing when they're pups. Eventually they will outgrow this juvenile messy behavior, lol.

Our Leo has his own creek Every year we dig out the winter trash from the swimming hole for him and he gets to go in every day. On special days we take him to the nearby river for a real swim. He loves to dive deep and pull up huge limbs from the bottom and drag them ashore. Powerful, natural swimmers!

Listen, as long as you walk them every day for 2 hours at least, they can even live in an apartments.
@Derek-qs9dz3 жыл бұрын
@@edyvrg8393 these are not border collies lol. They DO NOT need at least 2 hours per day. This is a laid back breed. A 20 minute walk in the morning and another 20 minute walk in the evening is perfect for them. These are big dogs, and if I try to give my boy too much exercise one day, the next couple days he doesnt want to leave the apartment. And yes, these make great apartment dogs. They are big, but very chill and dont use a lot of space
@edyvrg83933 жыл бұрын
@@Derek-qs9dz funny how you are explaining to me how a breed that I owned for almost 10 years now works. Leo's are not Newfoundland, they are a lot more energetic. I have a huge yard where my dogs can roam and after that I walk them around 1 and a half hours. This gives them good muscles which helps in dog shows. My female is now 9.6 years and perfectly healthy, I guarantee you that a couch potato that is only walked for 40 minutes a day won't live past 8. You totally can have a Leo even if you walk it 40 minutes, but let's not pretend you are giving it the best life possible.
@Derek-qs9dz3 жыл бұрын
@@edyvrg8393 maybe its just my dog. But when he gets too much exercise one day, he will refuse to exercise the next couple days. And he's approaching 7 right now. And has great health. Did not mean to offend you, I was just baffled that a leo owner is exercising their leo for 2+ hours a day. Whereas if i tried that with my guy he just wont move lol. And you cant move 145lbs of dog lmao

Sam G Leo’s dont live long
@Forkenstupid7 жыл бұрын
Heh, my guy is only part Leo and he does exactly the same thing, the running back and forth, the jumping, for a 110 .lbs dog, he gets pretty good air. Most Leo's seem to have this habit where they love to put their head between your legs and push with their forehead, I have 3 generations of part Leo's and they all do it. If I'm sitting when my boy does it, I scratch his neck and he loves it, push so hard sometimes he hurts uh body parts :) His mom, loves to sniff anyone's crotch heh, even women walking down the road, she's got no problem sticking her snout up their skirts much to their surprise, she's friggin quick too. Leo's have to be one of the best breeds of dogs I have ever had the pleasure of owning, even if they are not pure bred. Although sometimes I wish he wouldnt think he's a lap dog. Puppies or kittens, my big guy loves em, I have pictures of my big guy in a pen with kittens watching over them while mom was out of the pen, he actually whines so he can go play with them, gentle as all hell with them, tolerant, what an amazing breed.
