Unfortunately we are not offering training at this time. We currently require a minimum of 6 months of experience.

In Canada it's a max of 75 km distance and trailers must be unhooked.

I just flipped that shitty radar in front of my bumper, front side to rear - rear side to front, radar system will block and will activated speed mode only. Peterbilt 579 Epiq 2024 cruise control working well no annoying beep beep sounds. God bless American truck drivers

Driver facing camera?
@Anthony_The_Saint27 күн бұрын
The predictive is annoying as it actually starts slowing the truck down before getting to the top to adjust for the downhill speed. Although you can immediately step on the acceleration to disable predictive. This way, you don't annoy drivers behind you, wondering why you're slowing down quickly before you crest the top of the hill.

Basically the cameras take the whole reason of being a truck driver away. No more freedom on the open road. Orwellian violation of your 4th amendment rights.
@georgecook1374Ай бұрын
1st off its a lie those and all camera are constantly recording. seeing as if not by the time they are triggered the event is already happening and they can't magically go back in time to record what happened 30-60 seconds prior to the event. outward and inward. don't let them blow smoke.

The background music doesn't help. This video was better than some but still left lots of things out. For example, does every truck have a switch that disengages the fifth wheel? Of course not. And exactly how and when and why must the driver lower the suspension? I've driven a truck for 18 months but never had to drop or connect a trailer. Now that I'm going to drive OTR, I have to learn this and it does seem easy. That said, I haven't found a single video about this subject online yet that seems adequately prepared for a relatively new driver. I did pick up some things herein, but I'm still considering hiring a "professional" at $120/hr because so many things about this subject are still left unanswered. Sorry to be such a pest......but if I made a similar video it would be at least 30 minutes long and cover every possible scenario I could think of. That's a 60 plus year old speaking.

The common, "cameras only record when triggered" line... If this is true, then give complete control of the camera and footage to the driver. He can turn it over to management in the event of an incident. If he refuses, treat it the same as a drug test refusal. There is no need for a peeping tom to have unfettered access to stare at the driver.

You have to give the clock exactly what it needs. It needs 10 hours. The only ways to break that up is, 2 and 8 hours, and 3 and 7 hours. The small portion (2,3) can be done in off dury, sleeper berth, or even personal conveyance if need be, because DOT doesnt expect you to only be sleeping while doing the small portion, therefore you can be in off duty or even PC. However they do expect you to sleep during the 7 or 8 hour shift therefore they expect it to be sleeper berth only, because sleeper berth is not just a function on the tablet, its a location inside the truck (anything behind the driver and passenger seat) and of course in DOT's eyes, why would you move if your sleeping.. thats why you cant use personal conveyance or off duty when youre doing the big portion (7,8)... you also cannot use like 6 and 4 hours or 5 and 5 hours to do a split, because they expect you to have 7 or 8 hours of sleep, not just 5 or 6. . Now, the clock only needs 2 hours or 3 hours to start off, anything more than 2 hours or 3 hours is a waste, in the sense that if you go down for 2 hours and 38 minutes, you will only receive the 2 hours from that, or if you go down for 5 hours, then you only get 3 hours from it. Because it only needs 2 or 3 hours and thats all. Likewise if you need only 7 hours and you go down for 7 hours and 45 minutes, you only get 7, same with the 8 hour portion. Never give it more than it needs, but dont fall short either. If you need 7 hours, but you only get 6 hours and 58 minutes, you just lost it and have to start it all over again..(If youre doing the big portion first, but fall short of the 7 hours, then it will automatically give yiu 3 hours out of that time) Also, it doesnt matter if you do the big portion (7,8) or the small portion (2,3) first. They can be done in either order, as long as a total of 10 hours is complete. If you're doing a full 10 hour break by itself, then you may be in off duty, personal conveyance, and sleeper berth, because DOT doesnt know exactly what part of that 10 hours youre driving or sleeping, thats why you can be in various duty statuses. Theres more to it, but hopefully that simplifies it a bit... also correct me if im wrong lol

That's tge best explanation I've heard. But my experience has been, just when I think I've grasped it, I haven't. 😄

If I were ruler. I'd have the clock pause everything I'm not driving. 8 hr instead of 10. And 24 hr resets. 34s are mentally brutal to me, because I'm far from home and spend it in the truck usually sleeping too much.

Question 🙋♂️ say you started early and did a 2 hour break to stop the clock but still have 10:30 mins of drive time and 13:30 of workday, and after the two hours are up you drive and use up all of your work and drive time. When you shut down and put yourself on sleeper berth do you get time back after 8 hours?
