How have I never noticed the Broad Street Line has ditch lights?

Here’s the thing that gets me riled up about the Broad Street Line: I’m pretty sure the stations can accommodate like 8 or 10 cars, but they don’t have the ridership to justify running trains of that size. Outside of increased security on the trains and in stations, I wonder what major extension would increase ridership, and already has most of the infrastructure along the right-of-way built🤔

If there are any experts watching: I know they sound the horn at blind curves, but are there any other situations where they are required to do it? Like entering a yard or something?

Knowing SEPTA, they’ll get rid of this horn even though the BSL enthusiasts love it

i don't know what they're doing but you cannot bypass a restricted signal, you will get fired for that.

The signal lights per heads are the biggest turn•on in various combinations (🔴🟢/🟢🔴/🔴🟡/🟡🔴/🔴🔴🟡), while the classification lights sweetens the transit pill "⚪,🟡,🟢,🔵" 👏👍

These cars look practically brand new. Such a shame that they'll be headed the scrap heap after less than 30 years. It's a credit to SEPTA maintenance for keeping them rolling this long. I hope SEPTA gets some of its money back toward its purchase of the new MFL trains.

Gotta love the sweet sound of a wabco horn. That’s my #1 favorite train horn. I live in New York so I hear that horn on the old black and yellow work trains and the PA5 path trains.
