I was curious as to why they didn't use the other cards, jokers etc... and looked up for cartomancy in general and found your videos. It's good to expand one's horizons.

I didn't include them in the series because I personally don't use them and I wanted to stick with the 36 cards that come in traditional Kipper decks (even though this particular deck was requested by the viewer). Here's my take on the extra cards: 37 - Poverty: This is a card of lack, much like 5 of Pentacles in Tarot (if you read Tarot, that is). I tend to think of the poverty here as being connected to classism and systemic. The chimney sweep in the image is about doing what you have to do to survive - but it could also be detrimental to you in the long term, as the chimney sweeps were children who developed health problems as a result of the work. 38 - Toil & Labour: This is the flip side of the Work/Occupation card. Put them side by side and you'll see the difference; Work/Occupation is about your craft, skill, and talent, and possibly earning a living based on that, while Toil & Labour is more about hard work that isn't necessarily enjoyable, but it "pays the bills," so to speak. This might be factory and assembly line workers, going with the image - or work that is more tedious and monotonous - something that doesn't offer much variety. That might be in the job sense - or perhaps more metaphorical. 39 - Community: This is much like Courtship (in traditional Kipper decks it is called Meetings), which is the social get-together with others card; I think Community widens that by being about belonging to a group that shares a common bond. In the image, it suggests to me ethnicity, but it might also be about a shared interest or hobby. Community might be about celebrating what makes us all the same rather than focusing on what makes us different. Hope that helps! I appreciate you taking time to watch the series!

Thank you for watching! I've discovered that La Baraja Española comes in a few different variations, with each one having a different total card count. That would explain why you don't have Jokers in your deck. And the head tingling is such a wonderful "tell." Not only does it feel amazing, it never steers me wrong. 😊

You most likely have a deck with a different total card count than I do. That would explain why your deck doesn't have a Joker.
