There was a version of this track on KZbin without the percussion. It was more calm and less action sounding. Can’t find the video anymore

It wasn't the end of a show at all. It was farewell to the best decade a person could want to live thru. A farewell to a way of life that was just simply better. I'm in my mid 50s now...and looking back from 2024 to 1984, it takes my breath away at what was and what currently is. It's hard not to sound cynical or pessimistic about it. I will do my best to smile and be thankful I LIVED it.

A cool sea breeze is blowing in from the south as I listen to this at Perdido Resort, Orange Beach, AL/FL state line. Tropical climate. Beautiful scenery. I could really get used to this….

unlike the made for each other switek & zito episode this episode had a good plot around trudy asking the question what is more important your private life or your job michael mann (with the look style) and jan hammer (with the music) did a fantastic job in this episode

'Moya's Demise', imho, is one of the top 5 or 6 most energetic, fun, and melodic themes in all of Miami Vice. Many thanks for the upload, Crockettt1984 (and a huge thanks to Jan Hammer, obviously, for composing this fantastic theme) !!

This is the best theme version ever played. I love it.😊💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙👍. And sometimes when the music is playing, I cried with tears 😢 when the toy doll got shot by a bullet from "Chucky Season 2."😢😢.

Was this track not originally heard in Season 1 Episode 11 - "Give a Little, Take a Little" ??? I'm pretty sure it plays in the background when Crockett's protected informant takes a phone call regarding Sonny having been arrested for contempt of court, increasing his state of worry.

Yup, this is a uber-cool track for sure. Thanks, Crockettt1984, for the upload. It's like a minimalist Jan Hammer. The tension is mind-boggling! There is also a cool bit of odd-meter, reggae-influenced music in this 2-part episode, near the end, where Trini DeSoto is finally confronted in the alley. It may have dialog or sound effects on top of the music. Have you ever prepared this music for upload? I haven't checked your entire archive, so I'm not sure if it's there. Many thanks in advance for your passion, dedication, and commitment in bringing Vice fans all this incredible music. -RJ.

Candy's theme and it's variations are overwhelmingly moving pieces. They are lofty and whimsical, yet maintain a slightly melancholic tone. It's a complex tune with a great deal of emotional depth; one of Jan Hammer's best, I believe. I think it was appropriate for Candy; a prostitute with a moral compass. One can't help but wonder what her life could have been if she wasn't on the streets. One of Jan Hammer's gifts is his ability to read and understand the nuances of a scene or character and convey it through musical means.

I'm actually watching and taking notes on this episode right now (S1 E7 - No Exit) and I always thought this was part of a song by Ted Nugent or something. I'd be curious to know if Jan Hammer worked with any guitarists for this track. That opening riff is a face ripper, and totally sets the scene for the Miami Int'l Airport, the Maserati pulling up, the Tubbs-Dupas switch, etc.
