Yay well done guys👍🏼 well done bold venture David and Andrew. Not picking favorites but super for Andrew cooper and Pepper Jack I was there grooming for Andrew and his amazing horses ❤️ well done to all of you you. Also big fan of Olivia Barton and her magnificent horse Hollander ❤️

David doesn't have it easy and works very hard - no groom or stablehand at home, he has to do everything from feedout, tacking up, riding and to paddock maintenance - all on a shoestring. Together with return from injury, breeding his own horses and starting them from scratch, he's done wonders!

I live just around the road from David Middleton and get to ride in his indoor on rainy day or with green horses - Dave works his butt off and these two horses he's done everything with himself - they're green at this level but real contenders. Wishing him all the best for the show jumping!!

However, how has the fundamental fact been lost that a square halt results inevitably from a truly forward and through gait (walk, trot, canter, gallop, rein back). It makes me very cranky to watch horses adjusted into a square halt. If your horse is THROUGH your halt will be SQUARE. The halt is THE test sine qua non of throughness. Sorry but this REALLY bugs me. If your horse is in the bridle, in your seat, and truly through, your halts WILL BE SQUARE. If your halts aren’t instantaneous AND square, your horse is neither in the bridle nor through.

Turned out to be an amazing challenge for the riders and horses. Mike Etherington-Smith designed a brilliant course. No longer do I consider Adelaide 4* a bit hum drum.
