*"I believe in the bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents"-* Firstly, while the Bible contains some historical elements, it’s by no means considered a strictly historical document by most scholars. Some events it describes lack independent evidence, and it was written by many different authors over centuries. This often leads to inconsistencies and varying perspectives within the text. " *Written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses" -* The claim that the Bible was written by eyewitnesses is also widely debated. Most of the New Testament, including the Gospels, was likely written decades after Jesus’s life, therefore not by direct witnesses. Similarly, Old Testament stories were often passed down orally for generations before being recorded, which increases the likelihood of changes and embellishments over time. Regarding its prophecies, many are open to broad interpretation. In some cases, events were written in ways that make it seem as though prophecies were fulfilled, when they may have simply been written to appear that way. Finally, while the Bible’s importance to many people is clear, but the belief that it’s divinely inspired is, I'm afraid a matter of faith, not fact. With its numerous inconsistencies, historical gaps, and interpretations, the Bible does not stand as a purely reliable historical document.

I clicked on this video just to see the comments, and in typical fashion, all of the self-righteous, chest-pounding christians are out in full force looking down on anyone that disagrees with them. Fact: there is not a single verse in the bible that clearly mandates hetero-only marriage. Not one! The best you have is an insinuation - "A man shall leave his parents and be united with his wife". That is not a commandment or an order. Its simply referring to the customs of the time. Even Jesus himself never once issued an edict that explicitly states hetero marriage as the standard or norm. If you're against gay marriage, have the humility to at least admit your view is based on nothing but pure emotional bias.

Psalm 22 is so important and yet many people misunderstand when Jesus cries out my God, my God why is that forsaken me feelings are real, but not necessarily true. The feelings that Jesus felt at that time were absolutely real, but of course, they did not represent the truth. The Trinity never forsakes itself!

There are severe errors in the bible and the biblical narrative: >> There is huge animal suffering and struggle for survive every single day. Created or not, animals existed (millions of years) before humans came up, and they suffered and died all that time. << Error1 in the bible: Humans are not the original reason of suffer on Earth, it existed before we humans came up and is part of the biblical gods design. Error2 in the bible: The biblical gods divine design isn't perfect. Error3 in the bible: The biblical god isn't all loving. If the biblical god created those animals, they suffer because of him, and his divine design.

While I'm listening to Voochie Bauchman's sermon on "The Three Trees", I'm sitting in my car in the front yard observing a group of oak trees from bottom to top and noticing how the branches intertwine. I am in awe of the beauty and grandeur of what God creates in nature as Mr. Bauchman illustrates. Earlier this morning, I thought about my grand uncle who was also my godfather. When I was a little girl, he used to take me for walks. I would be in awe of the beautiful and simple things in nature. Innocently, I would point at water trickling through a small brook and say" Ooow weee! Look at the waaa waaa!!!🎉Life can be joyful if we sometimes examine God's handiwork with childlike wonder.❤🎉❤

At 8:04..ouch! That statement went straight to my soul. This is why I love Voddie, he is absolutely amazing at getting to the heart of our shortcomings. And he explains things in such a clear and concise way. I imagine this was much of how those who heard the Apostle Paul felt when listening to his sermons. It is humbling, makes one sorrowful for not following God's commands.

All of his answers came from scripture but the Hip Hop question was opinion. I learned a lot from this recording so I'm not bashing him. However I'm just noting that this question the last question about hip hop seems to be opinionated as opposed to all the other answers he gave, which were scripturally based. The question was not about hip hop as a culture or a history of Hip Hop it was about a genre of music that glorifies God in its lyrics. I'd be interested to know what other people think about this. ??

Done at "Malcom X." Too much bad is known about him to continue listening to a black preacher favoring a black criminal like he is some great legend when he is certainly not. Malcom X was very well known for advancing ISLAM! Look it up. They are haters of Christians and have killed many of us. The Bible shows where Islam roots in Esau where as we come from the line of Jacob. Satan uses them against the people of God all the time and they are our greatest threat here in the flesh on earth. They are evil and worship a false god, and actually there father is Satan to be more precise. I will never again listen to Voddie preach.

"It's a reliable collection of historical documents": Why is it reliable? There are many (even if minor) factual inconsistencies in the New Testament for example (see Jesus Interrupted chapter 2), this is to the detriment of the Bible's reliability. Considering the Old Testament, what external evidence do you have to suggest that events such as the great flood, the exile from Egypt and the entire book of Job happened as written? "The bible was written by eye witnesses": Certainly some of the letters attributed to Paul were written by Paul, however, many of the other books of the bible have disputed authorship. Just ask a historical-critical scholar who wrote the Torah, who wrote the Gospels, who wrote the rest of the Old Testament, who wrote Hebrews? We don't know. "I'm not here to defend the bible": Dude what? You use this to justify circular reasoning. This is simply useless, it is not helpful to do this. Don't appeal to the bible to justify your belief in it. I don't just want to bag on Christianity and this guy. If people genuinely want a foundation for their beliefs in the bible then you really have to dig deep and come to a better understanding of the biblical texts. There is possibly a good argument for the truth of the Bible but this is not it. Gaaah read a Bart Ehrman book.

You know I really just view the Bible as a collection of a bunch of different stories from people who thought they had divine encounters with the Holy Spirit. I view them basically like near death experience accounts because there were gospels that were weighted out of the official cannon of the Bible because they weren't consistent with other documents but That's how near death experiences are..... It's just people who died and then came back and report their experience of the divine on the other side and I get that human words can't really put all of that into perfect perspective because you're describing something outside of physical reality..... It's no wonder there are 50 different denominations of Christianity because there are so many different ways to interpret the text...... So yes while the Bible may be a reliable account of eye witnesses...... It doesn't mean they told the story correctly or It represents accurately all of what they experienced. So I do believe in some of the story of the book of Enoch and The cannon in other places as well but I don't think God for instance would throw somebody into hell just persimply not understanding that he is the Lord of the universe because God never revealed himself to them. I mean the Bible even says it's through grace that we have faith to begin with because God draws us to him so it's not by our own works that we get into heaven so we may not boast...... So it really wouldn't make any fucking sense at all if God sent anyone to hell for not believing because that would simply mean that God didn't want them to begin with and never impressed upon their hearts to follow him..... So if we take the Bible literally and at face value then it will contradict itself all over the place...... But if you take the spirit of the word and the overall message It's an entirely different picture. And nobody can tell me I'm wrong on interpreting the Bible the way I am because There are already 50 other denominations that want to tell me the same thing 😂 But really nobody has a 100% the correct answer because God is not actually talking to everybody physically or telepathically to let them know what's right or wrong. I truly believe God made us and we chose to come down and experience Earth to grow and the trials that come with it are something we accepted before we came here...... That would completely justify all the evil in the world because it would be from us and not facilitated by God and it would solve the problem of God not interfering to stop it because that's the contract we made before we came here.....That type of God would also not throw you into hell for a simple misunderstanding about god's goodness and grace when you die........ That God would throw you into hell for actively refusing to follow his divine will that has been revealed to you already which would make a hell of a lot more sense than throwing you into hell off of ignorance....... Plus all the near death experiences that I have heard anytime they go to hell they come back whenever they mention the name of God and jesus and asked to be saved.... People only stay in hell if they want to be there from my understanding.

you forgot a Calvinist that teaches false doctrine that doesn't appear in the Bible! He is a false teacher posing as a Christian, he believed the lies of Satan and has embraced the doctrines of men, and he has led millions into the dark Rabbitt hole of eternal death for believing a lie. Satan is the inventor of Calvinism and Catholicism too. The Bible is true, but you must read it and always test what anyone says by checking the Bible to see if what someone tells you is true is really the truth or just a story!

Why do ADULTS listen to someone telling them what they think some magical being would want/feel/think or do? What is is wrong with those people? Those sects are always harmful, no matter the name. That's no different than some voodoo cult. Seriously, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE?! It is terrifying to see adult people participate in such "magic circles" where some "witch master" babbles about higher goals of magical being xy. This terrible kind of faith is the source of evil-it is a cancer for societies. It peddles the fascist idea that "some are chosen", or even "superior"-because of their belief. You are NOT! Your unwarranted belief is not an achievement. It is the bankruptcy of yourself, the death of all logical thinking. Poor believers, I pity you. On your deathbed, you will have to face a nasty revelation. There will be no god, no messiah, no heavens waiting for you-just that last insight that you had been fooled and dedicated your life to a lie. All those wasted opportunities, all the in vain hatred towards those not sharing your delusion, all the time stolen by the church... Your last minutes will be so disappointing for you.

The Douay-Rheims Bible is an English translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate. It was produced by English Catholics in exile in the cities of Douay (or Douai) and Rheims (or Reims) during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. The New Testament was published in Rheims in 1582, and the Old Testament was published in Douay in 1609-1610. This translation was the standard English Catholic Bible for many years and is known for its formal, traditional language.
