Today marks the 23rd death anniversary of my middle sister my beautiful best friend big sister my Roxanne Andrea Mendoza. I inherited her music collection and this CD was the One we always listened to. I know most of this album by heart. This gem hasn't been played in a very long time. I woke up a little past sunrise and took a hike up to my favorite neighborhood hill. My streets and scooter ride were pleasant and calming. My sister had dreams to get married and have children. She loved God, parents, family, and friends. Her co-worker was like her little sister away from home. What brings me comfort it's the healing power of music. Even in my solitude and reflection I hear Julia and Roxanne's love and wisdom. Honoring my sister has been a privilege and I'm humbled to continue her legacy. Share her stories. I miss my Roxanne every moment of everyday and I know I am safe and loved. Music has been a driving force in my entire life. Thank you, Ms. Fordham for bringing your voice and talent to the world. It is my mission to serve communities and be that spotlight for others. Where do we go from here now that we know what we know? Answer: We go FORWARD. May music bring you some peace and comfort through your own healing and recovery time. Everyone grieves differently and we need to make space and show support. Remember that Love Always Wins.
